Keto Week 2 (Day

Sober Month 2 (Day 76)
I tried to do the set up for the printer last night. It would have been really easy because it was just two screws in the back to hold the spool holder on and plugging in the LCD Control Screen. But those were really small screws and the LCD wire strip was foreign to me. But the magnetic build plate was kind of fun to play with. I decided to just go to bed and try to read. But I was a bit to tired read as well. I was thinking I'm half way through The Children of Hurin so I was hoping that Tolkien was done with the introductions however the characters decided that they needed to go by different names. I realized how tired I was when I was trying to read and the entire book was just a soup of words. It was like my eyes were going diagonally. I got through two chapters, but I'm glad I don't have homework on the book.
Second week into the Keto diet. And weight is pushing the record for the year. I'm actually down below where I was at the start of 2024. At this rate I wont be below the record point for last year until midway through June, but we'll see what happens. Waist is up, but that's fluctuating a bit lately.
Roommate had two appointments he was supposed to have one in the morning and then one in the afternoon, but the nurse saw that he was already there and went ahead did the stuff that they were going to do the afternoon after the morning appointment. Which saved a trip so he suggested that we go over to Village Inn. (Not Sponsored) Well he asked if I wanted Village Inn or go through a drive through. I couldn't think of any drive through options that were low carb so I agreed to go to the restaurant. When the waitress asked if we needed a moment to look Roommate chuckled because I usually get the Chicken Fried Steak. Almost to a humorous degree. I was good on the diet today because I ordered the Sirloin and Eggs. Threw off the waitress because the meal comes with a choice of pancakes or toast. She kept asking if I wanted the pancakes or the toast. I told her that I just wanted the steak and eggs. She hesitantly asked me if I wanted some hash-browns to go with. Nope, just the steak and eggs. I asked for it to be cooked to medium. But it came out quite raw, in my opinion, I posted a picture of it on Facebook because that was the second time in a row that I asked for a restaurant to cook my steak to “medium” but it seemed to be under-cooked. And as they were different restaurants I was wondering if I was perhaps ordering it to the wrong “doneness” I'd hate to be the kind of customer that says, “hey do it like this, no that was wrong! Do it like I asked” and the way it turned out was exactly the way I had ordered. Like when people at work ask for the “light” version of their cigarettes and get upset because you've grabbed the “Golds”
Spent a lot of time in the basement working on the printer. The LCD strip threw me off because it didn't seem to have a plug on the end of the strip where it plugs into the screen. I was afraid that they had sent me a broken printer and I'd have to try to figure out a refund or replacement. I was getting kind of frustrated because I was looking up videos on how to install it, but when people were doing unboxings of it they almost all said, “this ribbon was tricky to figure out, but I was able to find information about it online” GREAT AWESOME DO YOU WANT TO SHARE WITH THE CLASS?
I did eventually figure it out. When I turned it on for the first time it printed out a calibration cube. Or a half of a cube. The length and width were about 3/4ths of an inch but it was about 1/2 inch high. I was a bit nervous because the second print was a test mold known as Benchy. It's called Benchy because of the features of the boat make for good tests for the printer. But halfway through printing it the thing just went to spaghetti. I'm thinking that it was because the printer was going so fast it was causing the printer to shake the entire table and the shivering made the print fail. I moved the printer to a more secure point on the table and the second try went perfectly.
I took a break to have some pork chops. I pan seared them. I thing that they would have been better on the Foreman Grill. I was going to make Pizza Soup for dinner, but Roommate told me that his cousin was going to come over and introduce his wife and his new baby. He was quick to tell me that he did NOT want to feed his cousin because Roommate didn't want his cousin to think he could just crash over here. The cousin is kind of couch surfing and can't seem to hold a job for more than a couple of months. It would have been a VERY quick veto from me if they suggested that they stay at our place. I DO NOT want to live in an apartment with a three month old and the cousin's wife who didn't even bother saying "hi" to me.
I'm a bit concerned for the cousin's kid because he kept referring to the kid as "it", "crotch-spot", and "shit stain" They weren't here long and maybe the cousin was just trying to act tough for Roommate. But the kid was never referred to as she or her, just "it" They weren't here long, and I don't have room to judge how others treat their kids, but is that normal?
