Weight: 338.8 lbs ( 153.7 kg) BMI: 43.5 Waist: 56 in (142.2 cm) WtHr: 75.7% Breakfast: Bacon and Eggs Lunch: Fathead Lasagna   Dinner: Pork Steak Drinks: Salted Coffee, Kroger Seltzer, Sugar Free Monster Peachy Keen Sober Month 6 (Day 190) Had a hard time waking up this morning. I just kind of sat here at the computer counting down the time until I had to go to work. I worked Noon to Nine closing the Customer Service Desk instead of the normal 11a-8pm Supervisor shift that I usually do. I drank an entire pot of coffee, but I'm just sitting here zoned out. I had thought a couple of times that I need to get a plan together for what I'm going to cook on Tuesday for the weekly lunch. But then I zone back out. First half of the day went really smoothly. Not sure if I should write this down. This is being logged at lunch. I worked a 3:5 split so I went to lunch at 3pm and will have to work 4 to 9. The challenge of the first half of today was that I wasn't supervisor I was s...

I felt like I was on peg legs until I got them loosened up. Weight is up again. A bit nervous about the way that it's been tracking up this week. It's down for the year and it's still below the average of the year. The watch says that Fat is down and Muscle is up, but water is also up. And I've been going to the bathroom a lot again today. Roommate had a nurse visit this morning. Pretty sure that this is his last home healthcare visit. He seems to be a bit nervous about that fact. As the roommate's nurse was there I left early for work. It was just a few minutes early, but as I was driving towards the store I notic...

It didn't take much of the shortening to cover my hands. I wonder if I bought too much. There was only one size of can, but it only took a couple of fingertips full to cover the entirety of my hands. It was a bit distracting to have my hands inside of socks. And I probably shouldn't have used the socks that I wore yesterday. There was a smell, but the crustiness was more distracting. The warmth on my hands was nice though. When I woke up this morning the hands had kind of stiff skin on the back of them, but they didn't hurt. I'll continue the experiment to see if it helps. But I'll p...

I am so ready for spring, it's not even funny. They are talking about more snow this weekend. It did warm up a little later in the afternoon, but that wind was going bananas all day long. I slept with the latex gloves on. The hands still look rough, but at least the skin doesn't hurt. The sleep tracker app is saying that I didn't fall asleep until 2:45, which is a bit of a surprise as I didn't think that I had a hard time falling asleep. And I did wake up really easily this morning and I felt well rested at 7:30. Roommate asked me if the smell of weed had woke me up as he could smell it coming through the wall. I personally didn't smell i...

But there is a new lady who was scheduled to close the desk this evening and she's been having a hard time getting it done correctly and today is Saturday so if things are off tonight they'll be off for Sunday and that could throw off things for all of next week. I was a bit confused when they called me from the store to ask me to stay late because they asked me to come in “an hour later and stay until 9” Well if I'm scheduled to come in at 10 and I come in an hour later and stay until 9 that would mean that I would be working from 11 to 9pm. And no thanks. I usually work 11-8 so that must have confused them.  Roommate did some grocery shopping this mornin...

Today is up 2.4lbs (1 kg) but I'm pretty sure that is mostly snot in my head. I'm also a bit frustrated that the waist is up also. But fluctuations happen. I didn't have coffee again today as just as I was finishing the bacon and eggs Roommate came downstairs and announced that his nurse was on the way. I helped him wrangle his dog into his room but then I had to go to work. And good gravy everybody else came into the store also. I am so glad that nobody complained to me about it being busy. There's a promotion for 4x Fuel Points on Friday, the Super Bowl is this weekend, and they're talking about snow next wee...

Easing Off of the Energy Drinks Keto/Sobriety Blog Jan 31, 2025

Weight: 349.4 lbs ( 158.5 kg) BMI: 44.9 Waist: 58 in (147.3 cm) WtHr: 78.4% Breakfast: Bacon and Eggs Lunch: AI Cheesy Sausage Spinach Bake Dinner: Salmon Fillets Drinks: Salted Coffee, Kroger Seltzer, Celsius Energy, Powerade Zero Orange, Kroger Energy Shot, Sugar Free Monster, Keto Day 6 Sober Month 1 (Day 45) I was hoping to get a little bit more progress on things by the end of the first month of the year. I guess you could say that a month and a half of sobriety is a good start, but weight loss and financial gain isn't where I was hoping to be. I was late getting to bed last night. (Didn't sleep until 3am) No reason why, I was feeling rebellious. Kind of getting tired of the bed, work, bed, work cycle. Of course not going to bed actually makes me tired. I'm not sure if it was the lack of sleep or the nearly week into Keto I really had to pee a lot today. Keto is good at getting rid of body water. However the smartwatch tracks body water/fat/muscle and the stats re...

He asked me if the Seltzer water had a lot of sodium in it because the doctor told him that he was retaining a lot of water. The seltzer cans say “Low Sodium” Roommate said that he's going to quit drinking my seltzer water. Which works for me because I was buying those to quit drinking beer. Looking at the Keto Day count and the Sober Day counts kind of makes me go on a bender to reset both numbers and sync them up. I know that this is an unwise idea. But ever since I got the idea I can't shake it. “Oh, come on. One day wouldn't hurt” “It's not like you'll go back to buying cases of beer a day” But I do know ...

Roommate did offer me a Cayman Jack Margarita, and I did accept. But I wont consider it breaking the streak. Because it's not like I'm drunk after one small can. Now if I were to go buy a case tomorrow and drink that, and then the next day, and then the next day. Yeah that's when I'm back in trouble. He tried to give me some advice on drinking, insisting that if I just moderate the drinking it won't be a problem. But he doesn't seem to understand I CAN NOT moderate. If I buy a case of beer I WILL BE drinking the entire thing. He said that if I just stopped when I felt the buzz it'll be fine. But that's the problem, I wont stop when I...

But the book I was trying to read was “ The Children of Húrin” by JRR Tolkien. Professor Tolkien is an amazing writer. He is great at building his world through his characters. The problem is I have a hard time remembering people by their names. So he'll spend three pages saying who this person is, where they lived, who is in their family, and then Oh, they died. Then he just says somebody elses name, and the story just expects you to know who they are.  It was odd this morning I woke up with Amazing Grace playing in my head. Going over the lyrics it is strange that Amazing Grace is thought of such a mournful song. It is singing about the blessings God has given ...

I made a Weekly Weigh In video yesterday. Editing went long so I had to finish it after work. And it felt weird to make a Vlog, and then a Blog. Because of the weather I was stuck at the store for lunch. I shouldn't complain about the weight gain the next day if I'm going to have Doritos and Fried Chicken for lunch. Spent all evening burping after lunch. I'm thinking that the Fried Chicken makes me burp a lot. Roommate made a pot of chili last night and that's why I had corn chips earlier today. I took an inventory of the freezer today to set up the meal plan for the week. And I went to the store to get the ingredients for a couple of recipe vi...

Roommate was discharged from the hospital in the next state over, but he didn't have any family members that could go over and pick him up. I have to say that the Flint Hills really are quite stunning. They must be quite beautiful in the spring and summer when everything is green. Instead of the brown, brown, with a bit of brown mixed in that we have here in late autumn/early winter. I think I startled my mother when I posted on Facebook the picture of my dinner saying that this was the first time I had ever visited a Waffle House. It was an impromptu 14 hour road trip that I didn't tell anybody about. I rarely ever leave my house on a normal day, and then “Surpri...

I don't think I'm in Ketosis just yet as I had Velveeta Dinner yesterday for lunch err, “Lunch” as the first time I ate yesterday was at 4 O'clock in the evening. I had bratwursts for dinner later in the evening. I had picked up the dinner when I was doing the weekly shopping. I fell to the temptation of the glorified mac and cheese. I did manage to fight off the temptation of the beer. I tried to make a recipe video of Bacon and Eggs. But the once again I half cremated the bacon. The first half of the cooking turned out alright. But when I turned it over I let the bacon cook for too long. And the pepper container I have is one of those really big containers and it's starting to run low so all of the peppe...

Running low on bacon. The call I was expecting discussing the scores for my computer skills test came as an email. The data entry scores were quite high, which makes sense for someone who has been a cashier for WAY too long. The words per minute was at 29 net wpm. Which is not great, but not terrible. My Excel knowledge was at 71% which kind of bummed me out because a 71% is a C- score, but the lady with the HR group said that the scores aren't “A,B,C,D” and a 71% is really quite good. And I scored 81% on my MS Word quiz. Which I feel is a good score either way. This afternoon I helped change some light bulbs for Grandma. I live in a very blessed family. Everyone I know always complains about their interactions with their family, but I have y...

Weight: 351.2 lbs ( 159.3 kg) BMI: 45.1 Waist: 58in ( 147.3 cm) WtHR: 78.4% Breakfast: x Lunch: Cheesy Ramen Dinner: Bratwursts Drinks: Kroger energy shot, Sparkling water, couple cans of Diet Coke and Diet Dr Pepper I got a weigh in video done this morning. Not a great weigh in compared to the last couple of days, but really not bad compared to the last weigh in video. Didn't get video done in time to make breakfast before work. Made the first half of work last a long time. What really caused the first half of work to be REALLY LONG was the fact that I had forgotten my phone at home. I know that I really shouldn't be playing with my phone at work, but leaving the phone at home really makes for a long day. Particularly each time the hand brushes past the phone pocket and I think about how I need to run home on my lunch break to grab my phone. Ran home for lunch and my phone. That's when I uploaded the weigh in video. I got the editing done this morning, but had to ...

Under 350lbs (159kg). That's what happens when you pay attention to what you eat. I did take a moment to run to the store to grab some bacon for breakfast. I also got some coffee filters, but didn't have time to drink an entire pot of coffee before work. Cheesy Ramen for lunch. Is Ramen Keto? It might be by the time I get done putting cheese in it. (That was a joke, Mom) I only have a couple of packs of Ramen left. I am looking forward to having more. Cheesy Ramen, but I really shouldn't have a need to buy any more. Work was typical BS, had a couple of people call in. One person I honestly don't know why she bothers working. She is just full excuses whenever she even bothers showing up, but today she called in with a note from her c...

It was a difficult situation to explain; kind of like I was inside out or upside down or something. I felt like I had to negotiate and navigate. And bleah was everything. Then I realized, I didn't eat anything before work. And yesterday all I ate was some leftover nacho cheese and munched on some Doritos. So no wonder I felt so weak, I hadn't had any proper meals in over 24 hours. I'm not trying to starve myself. I just didn't take the time to eat. And frustratingly I still didn't get anything done. Well, I did get the refrigerator thawed out and got the dishes done. (yesterday)      After lunch was like flipping a switch. I hadn't felt that good in a while. Claritin was taking effect, food was ...

I tried to make the eggs over easy again, but as soon as my spatula touched the eggs to turn them they just scrambled. I usually cook the eggs in a cast iron skillet. But that was dirty from yesterday so I was cooking in a different skillet, it's not a Teflon pan, it has some sort of light brown covering across the cooking surface. Usually it's a pretty good non stick pan, but this morning I just couldn't get the spatula under the eggs.      Work was frustrating as always. Underpaid, understaffed, o...
