I just kind of sat here at the computer counting down the time until I had to go to work. I worked Noon to Nine closing the Customer Service Desk instead of the normal 11a-8pm Supervisor shift that I usually do. I drank an entire pot of coffee, but I'm just sitting here zoned out. I had thought a couple of times that I need to get a plan together for what I'm going to cook on Tuesday for the weekly lunch. But then I zone back out. First half of the day went really smoothly. Not sure if I should write this down. This is being logged at lunch. I worked a 3:5 split so I went to lunch at 3pm and will have to work 4 to 9. The challenge of the first half of today was that I wasn't supervisor I was s...

Keto Day 4
Sober Month 1 (Day 43)

Roommate had a doctors appointment this morning. He asked me if the Seltzer water had a lot of sodium in it because the doctor told him that he was retaining a lot of water. The seltzer cans say “Low Sodium” Roommate said that he's going to quit drinking my seltzer water. Which works for me because I was buying those to quit drinking beer.

Looking at the Keto Day count and the Sober Day counts kind of makes me go on a bender to reset both numbers and sync them up. I know that this is an unwise idea. But ever since I got the idea I can't shake it. “Oh, come on. One day wouldn't hurt” “It's not like you'll go back to buying cases of beer a day” But I do know that if I fall to that excuse I'll fall to other excuses. Those counts are just going to have to be “unsynced” for now.

I had a couple of the Powerade Zero's today. After posting yesterday Mom suggested that I try Gatorade or the Propel water because the issues I was experiencing yesterday could be me being low on electrolytes. However the Powerade is cheaper than Gatorade.

I had a bit of a sense of dread as I walked into the store. I get this feeling from time to time. The feeling that there is no sense of progression. Today is same as last week, which was the same as six months ago, which was ten years ago, which will be tomorrow. Every day I just walk into the same store, doing the same thing. Every day. Kind of why I want to build on hobbies outside of work. Hobbies that I can look at and say that I've built something. (Maybe work on the printers tomorrow before work)

At lunchtime I picked up some “Wholegrain Garlic Mustard” as I forgot this mustard yesterday when I bought groceries. This is an ingredient in the Stroganoff recipe that I'm planning on cooking sometime in this next week. And I figured that those would go good on the Hot Dogs I was planning on having on for lunch. This mustard tasted good, but the mustard kernels make the mustard feel weird in my mouth.

I have a scratch on the top of my right thumb, just under the nail. It's not enough of a wound to be concerned about, but it's where it'll smack into everything in creation. Even writing this up my left thumbnail keeps rubbing against the injury on my right thumb.

Work today went really quite quickly. Today was really a calm slow day. There were times that it built up a bit, but everybody showed up for work, and actually worked. The crew this evening were all kids (relatively speaking) but they were kids who I didn't have to constantly breathe down their necks to have them do their jobs. Customer Service Manager was anxious about everybody getting their training done as the financial year is cycling soon and she wants to make sure that everybody is caught up on their training before the “new year” starts. There was some rain this evening, but nothing in the forecast is making anybody as scared as the blizzard or the arctic polar vortex we had the last couple of weeks.

I did enjoy the light rain that we had this evening. I'm still looking forward to the “run for the basement” storms we're going to get in the spring. But this is the kind of light rain that should be good for washing things off. But then again it is still January, should this rain actually be snow?

Hey, I was carnivore today. If you don't count the mustard. Probably not the kind of carnivore that the purists would advocate for. Somehow I doubt there are too many "experts" saying that you should have too many hot dogs and bratwursts. But hey, at least it's low carb. And Dr Berry says that this works.
