Working On a Spreadsheet Daily Blog January 31, 2023

I love working on spreadsheets, they are quite satisfying to get working. If I could choose my dream job, I think it would be a 9 to 5, Monday to Friday, data entry job. But I think that might be a dream of a dream job, it sounds like something that could easily be replaced by AI. And I have to say It is a lot funner working out the spreadsheet tracking my weight loss over the year than it is to be cleaning my house like I'm supposed to be doing. It took me considerably longer than I expected to get all of the formulas on the spreadsheet sorted out. But at least for the rest of the year all I have to do is stand on the scale and measure my

Bed was nice, warm, and cozy. The heater in my house is working just fine, but it was warmer in the bed. Did get up with enough time to eat breakfast and drink a cup of coffee, but didn't get much else done.      Had a strange dream as I was waking up. I had dreamed that my mother had bought the local Village Inn, but had named all of the meals after my younger sister. She had named the meals after my sister because she was her business partner. My sister is a very business oriented person and it'd make sense that they'd work together on that. And my mom did used to own a restaurant that sadly went under. So there was hope that working together they'd see success, but I remember in the dream I was trying

And the weight is trending upwards over the last couple of days. Trying not to worry about the daily fluctuations, but it does seem to be tracking up lately. The weigh in video this morning had the same weight as last weeks weigh in. I have lost 14 lbs (6.3 kg) this month, so the trending up might just be a bit of body recovering from the loss of that much and getting used to the new diet. So yes, it might bounce up a bit more, but I wont get too upset unless it bumps back up over 340 lbs (154.2 kg)      Google says that the size of eggs doesn't matter when you're frying eggs. But these medium eggs seem to fr

Hangover in the Feet? Daily Blog January 28, 2023

Not surprising considering yesterday's indulgence, but was kind of surprising was the fire in the feet and the stiff calf muscles. Kind of brought to mind what a coworker had told me when I was buying that Bud Light Next, he said that alcohol in itself is kind of a carb and it breaks down into sugar so a “Carb Free” alcohol is kind of impossible. This might need more research. I do know that Doc Berry is very instant that alcohol is just a poison and nobody needs to be drinking it, no matter what diet they're trying to do. So I don't know if the pain in the legs and feet are due to body dealing with some surprise carbs or dealing the poison of alcohol; maybe the pain in the feet and lower legs is because my body is focusi

Was out of eggs and only three strips of bacon left. Old car is supposed to be towed away this morning. Strangely paranoid about it. I'm sure that they'll be here, but if they're not here by 3pm I'll call them and ask.    I got a phone call from them at 11am saying that the earliest that they can be here will be Monday -_-. I asked for them to come out Tuesday as that's my day off. A bit annoyed by the continued delay. Again I'm not really being hurried to get it done, but now that I'm trying to get it done I want it to be done. If that makes any sense. But do I know that stamping my feet will only end up with me having sore feet. The guy on the phone did say that there was a note on my order saying that they need to bring a smaller truck so I don

Weight: 330.2 lbs ( 149.8 kg) BMI: 42.4 Waist: 55 in ( 139.7 cm) WtHr: 74.3% Breakfast: Bacon and Eggs Lunch: Fathead Lasagna  Dinner: Baked Chicken Drinks: Pot of coffee, Tap water      Back over the goal of 330. But that is just fluctuations, was nice being under that goal for the last couple of days. And I'm telling myself to not beat myself up too much because I'm up one day after being down for so many days. That didn't stop me from wondering the cause of the up all morning. One exciting measurement is the waist. The waistline is under 55 inches, but I round to the closest half inch (1.3 cm). I almost teared up when I noticed that the tape measure showed the waist in the 54 inch (137.2 cm-139.4 cm) range      What is kind of strange is that I woke up before my alarms. Don't get too excited Mom, it was still 7:45 when I woke up. (She thinks she slept in too long if she sleeps past morning Astronomical twilight.) I have an alarm on my watch set for 8am and

It didn't hurt all that bad, it's just kind of an annoyance. Might need to uptake my salt intake. I'm really surprised that I still made progress this morning. Dinner last night was about a half a rack of St Louis ribs. So I was expecting to weigh in this morning with a half a rack of ribs sitting in my gut. But I guess that didn't matter. Wasn't able to finish the later half of the ribs this morning. The microwave turned the leftovers into leather. :( I can eat an entire rack of ribs in a single day, so I don't think I'll be wasting the other racks of ribs that I bought on the sale. I'll just have to eat those on my days off. But they're going to sit in my freezer in the meantime.      Pants

Haven't updated that goal just yet. I have 10 pound milestones and it is still too close to the 330 (149.7 kg) goal to be satisfied that I am past that goal. Waist is still in the mid fifties, but I noticed myself lifting up on the gut because it seems to be resting on the area under the gut more often. So it does seem to be making progress, (which I do appreciate) it'd just be nice if that progress was in the circumference and not just in the slack. I can measure the circumference, I don't know how to measure the sagging of the gut.      Breakfast again was bacon and eggs. This is four strips of bacon and three fried eggs. I'm kind of getting tired of fried eggs. I was only able to eat two of the eggs. “Tired of Bac

Technically Under The Goal Daily Blog January 23, 2023

I'm technically under my current goal of 330lbs (149.7 kg) But with daily fluctuations I'm not going to call myself past that goal just yet. I went and looked over my YouTube playlist to see when the last time I was under 330 lbs and it was back in early 2019. And going over that playlist it looks like 330 lbs is a long time hurdle for me. But that's just looking at the thumbnails of the videos. Starting out it looks like I was 314.8 (142.8 kg) back in 2014 and it would be nice to get back to that starting weight. I just can't believe that I'm already down 17.4 pounds (6.5 kg) already! I'm sure that this isn't going to be a sustained rate, but good LORD it's a good start to the year.      Not losing much

Astrology is BS, but the Year of the Rabbit is supposedly good luck for Tigers as well. Either that or people who write horoscopes don't make much money telling people that they'll have poor luck in the coming year.      Too busy this morning making weekly weigh in video to cook breakfast, had a cup of coffee but I'd hardly call that an actual breakfast.      I can't really think of anything to say. Work was really smooth. Not much really happened. We did have one kid call in sick, but he was just a carry out for a couple of hours. The other kid that seems to throw a tantrum to even be told to put things in bags seemed to want to work today. And it was really quiet for a Sunday afternoon when the Chiefs aren't playing. There was almost like a residual ache. Normally, when waking up, the balls of the feet are like knives, and legs are like stilts. But not today! That's a great way to start the day! And normally, when I say those words, it's with heavy sarcasm. But no sarcasm today (not yet anyway)      It was snowing when I woke up this morning. And with the way my feet were feeling I was kind of wanting to walk to work. (I love walking when it's snowing) But by the time I got breakfast, showered, and other excuses I just didn't have the time. It's probably for the best. My feet this morning feel amazing, but I can't say that they'd be the same after walking two miles to t

A goal without a timeline is just a dream – Robert Herjavec Daily Blog January 20, 2023

I know that fluctuations happen, and fluctuations mean weight will go up AND down. And that's kind of the thing with daily weigh ins. And I know that I'm still in the upper 330's so a daily weigh in could get back up above 340 (140.2 kg) still kind of frustrating to be up above what I saw as the previous goal. Current goal is 330 (159.7 kg) Long term goal is 169 lbs <heh nice> (76.7 kg) And I know that it's going to be quite a while before I see that long term goal, but goals are important. The short term goals are going to be ten pounds each. Not quite sure of the timeline of the goals. I don't want to push an unrealistic timeline, but "a goal without a timeline is just a dream" – Robert Herjavec      A quick google search says th

I was getting discouraged by the ups. Mom is leaving encouraging comments on my Facebook posts, and I've been bad at replying to them. They are appreciated, I'm just not sure of what to say to respond to them.      Went by the tag office this morning and they were able to fix the title for my car. They just stapled an “Affidavit of Correction” to the title. And they did it for free! I was so scared that I'd get the response of, “Yeah, we can fix it, but you'll have to pay the three years of back registrations and get insurance, and late fees, and the fee fees and the other fees.” But no it was just a matter of getting a piece of paper stapled to the old title. The look on the face of the lady at the tag office was kind of funny when I breathed out a, “Oh, thank Christ!” W

Started off being up two pounds from the previous day. And then the guy who came to pick up my car pointed out that I signed the wrong place on my cars title so he couldn't take the car. I basically signed the title as the buyer AND the seller. Tow guy said that I'd have to have an attorney look at it before it could be towed off. He left with a, “Have a nice day” so I was unsure if that meant that he was sending someone to settle it or if I had to contact a lawyer myself which I definitely don't have the money for. My sister told me that I'd just have to go to the tag office and they can fix it, by either printing a new title or some other way. She assured me that it wouldn't cost very much, which is good because I really don't have very much. The concern I have wit

I know that I shouldn't be too broken up about the day to day, and just keep in mind the weekly average. And it's only up one pound. But I'm up a pound the morning after eating an entire box of mac and cheese. I'm mainly just grumpy because I'm back over 340. So am I back over 340 because I ate some pasta, because I'm one person eating a box of mac and cheese that is intended for 4 people, or is it just day to day fluctuations. I'm telling myself not to worry about it.      I was going to do some grocery shopping to buy another couple of recipes to make videos of, but this next week I have the electricity and natural gas bills coming through. But whatever it was a charge for a renewal for a program that is on my computer, and the card that was used for that program is now canceled so I shouldn't be getting any more surprise charges from that. Before the lack of wanting to move was more of a dread of what lies ahead of me when I do get moving. (should probably look into getting help with that kind of feeling) But today was more of a Newtonian momentum kind of thing. “A body at rest will stay at rest” And I was “well rested” this morning. I woke up, er gained consciousness, at about 8 am. Can't really say that I “woke up” when I was just laying there like that. All week long I had to keep reminding myself what day of the week it was. Shoulders, back, elbows, knees, and especially the ankles are popping and crackling like crazy. There's not any pain in any of my joints, so I don't think there's anything wrong with my joints. This happens when I'm doing good on my Keto diet. Last time I noticed this was back in October of 2020! I had mentioned the effect in a half written blog post that I didn't upload. A recent live stream that Doctor Ken Berry made someone asked him about cracking knees, and he played it off as something that just happens when you get into your 30's; I am 36 years old but I really don't have the popping and cracking nearly as much when I'm not doing my diet. Especially since some sites say that daily fluctuations can range up to 5 to 10 pounds (2.3- 4.5 kg) in a single day.     Now I'm REALLY annoyed with Avast. My bank account was charged again, even though I had canceled all of my subscriptions to them. I'm not sure of someone had snagged my debit card number or if there's subscriptions that aren't showing up on my Avast account. There doesn't seem to have any way to contact Avast on their site so I went to the bank to dispute the charge. Lady at the bank said that the charge was still pending so we can't dispute it yet. Last time I was under 340 was before the pandemic. And the pandemic would be an easy excuse for weight gain; quite a few people had seen changes in their lives that would cause them to gain weight. But to be honestly not much of my life had changed in the pandemic. Stress levels gained substantially and that does cause weight gain, but so does not eating correctly. Bacon and eggs again for breakfast, but pan was too hot and poured off too much of the bacon grease before I cooked the eggs so I accidentally made scrambled eggs. And the great thing about chili (not sponsored) is that the longer that it sits in low warmth the better the flavor gets. And in the instant pot it's only supposed to be under pressure for 35 minutes and when I got home it was kept warm for three and a half hours. It turned out quite spicy. Weekly Weigh Ins really aren't that hard, it's just a matter of getting out of bed before I have to get running for work.      It looks like the two nights that I ate spaghetti led to quite a bit of weight increase three and half pounds in two days as apposed to the loss of an average of nearly a pound per day for must of the days this week so naturally I picked up a box of mac and cheese on the way home this evening.      The plan this evening was going to be cook dinner proper; a pork steak, and an impromptu box of mac and cheese that I decided to pick up for no reason, and while those cook I was going to start up the Instan

Not that long ago the phrase “Correlation does not imply causation” was going around the internet.
