I actually moved my scale around to make sure that there wasn't anything underneath it. The watch scan says that there was a pretty big drop in muscle, but there was also a big drop in water weight. Which makes since because of the last couple of days. But the scan says that fat is up a little On the way home from the hospital with Roommate I happened to drive by where the new YMCA is going to be and wow that is going to be huge. Roommate was surprised that I cared because he thought that I had quit going. And it wasn't that I had given up on the idea of going to the Y it's just that I was waiting for him to go back to work. He asked me why h...

It would have been really easy because it was just two screws in the back to hold the spool holder on and plugging in the LCD Control Screen. But those were really small screws and the LCD wire strip was foreign to me. But the magnetic build plate was kind of fun to play with. I decided to just go to bed and try to read. But I was a bit to tired read as well. I was thinking I'm half way through The Children of Hurin so I was hoping that Tolkien was done with the introductions however the characters decided that they needed to go by different names. I realized how tired I was when I was trying to read and the entire book was just a soup of words. It was like my eyes wer...

So when by 10:20 and he didn't call I thought I'll go ahead and set up the Keto Gumbo. It was 10:29 when he called and asked if I had time to make it to the hospital and come get him. I had a bit of a chuckle that he waited to call at 10:29 to call after he said that he wouldn't call after 10:30. I was still trying to set up the slow cooker, but I didn't want to leave him hanging. I would be a rush to get to him and back home. He volunteered to finish setting up the cooker ...

Not sure what's going on there. They haven't been hurting much this week, but now they feel like I'm back to what it was like when I started the year.  I had steak and eggs for breakfast because I'm going to try to stretch out the bacon if I can.   My smartwatch has a feature that scans the Muscle/Fat/Water content of the body when I weigh in each morning. I wasn't sure how accurate the scan is because if I look at the things that it said my body contains the watch scan says I have 1...

Somehow the snow makes the cold a bit more bearable. Cold without snow is just bleah. But with the snow coming down it kind of makes sense. I'm still very ready for spring. But if it has to be winter, let there be snow to make it look like winter. Last night I was playing Minecraft with Roommate and he asked me why I had put the latex gloves on. I told him that it was because of the dry skin on my hands. He said that might not be a good idea because I'm going to want something that lets my skin breathe. He was telling me that his bandage on his leg is designed to let the skin breathe. And the suggestions that I've came across say to wear cotton socks/gloves to keep warmth and moisture in. But...

That is 4.5 lbs (2 kg) down for the month. I'm sure a good chunk of that is just water weight. But losing water weight is still getting weight off of my feet. Roommate was a little irritated at me this morning. I'm running low on bacon so I decided to have a strip steak and eggs for breakfast this morning. I have to say that eggs fried in bacon and steak drippings is a good combination. But he uses a CPAP machine and I guess that the smell of the steak cooking in the seasonings was going into the machine and basically punching him in the face. The back of my hands look like lizard s...

Kind of reminds me of the idea that the only way that a diet will work is if you treat it more than just a “diet” it should be a “lifestyle” It is interesting that over the last couple of days the “Body Composition Scan” on my watch has marked a notable increase in “Body Water” I'm not sure how much to trust this scan as it is just a watch scanning my wrist and the two fingers on the other hand. I think that it supposedly sends a pulse through my torso ...

So I had that steak with my eggs this morning as he went to a doctors appointment. It was a very Ketogenic meal, but not sure if it was a very hygienic meal. The steak was left out all night and I reheated it in the cast iron skillet that had leftover bacon grease in it that had also been sitting out. So I had a leftover rib eye reheated in bacon grease and fried some eggs in the drippings. Very, very Keto friendly, but all of that meat was left out. So very...um Probiotic? Got around to messing with the printers again. The big one still has a stripped screw. I'm trying the super glue method again, but waiting for longer for the glue to set in the screw head before trying to ...

He asked me if the Seltzer water had a lot of sodium in it because the doctor told him that he was retaining a lot of water. The seltzer cans say “Low Sodium” Roommate said that he's going to quit drinking my seltzer water. Which works for me because I was buying those to quit drinking beer. Looking at the Keto Day count and the Sober Day counts kind of makes me go on a bender to reset both numbers and sync them up. I know that this is an unwise idea. But ever since I got the idea I can't shake it. “Oh, come on. One day wouldn't hurt” “It's not like you'll go back to buying cases of beer a day” But I do know ...

I thought I had woken up peeing the bed, but the wetness in the bed was only in the top half of the bed. I really had to pee several times during the night. And I had really low energy all morning. A google search says that this could be a range of issues ranging from certain STI's (probably not) High Stress (I haven't been that stressed lately) Changes in hormones (maybe from changing diet?) Certain Cancers (that's unnerving) Low Blood Sugar (I'm guessing on this one) I'm guessing hypoglycemia as I did wake up again today with a hangover like headache, muscle weakness, and tired all day. I was really zapped for energy all day. Even while drinking...

So much energy it lasted into the night. I went to bed right after posting last night. But I didn't fall asleep until well after 2am. I was doing the rotisserie chicken until then. I even ran back downstairs to make sure that I put the bacon away. Yesterday I only had two strips of bacon so I wasn't able to have breakfast at home. I did remember to buy more bacon as I left work, but I wasn't sure that I had put it in the fridge. And it would have really irritated me if I had just left the $15 slab of bacon sitting on the counter top all night long. And yeah, I did put it away, I was just jumping out of bed because my brain was running wild. Ro...

The good news is the hex screws that I thought were all stripped out were actually fine, it was just me being too drunk to work on them properly. (Another thing to add to the list of thousands of reasons I'm glad I stopped drinking.) I installed the extruder that I had been wanting to install for a while now. When I looked at Amazon to see how long ago that it's been sitting in my basement waiting for me to get around to install it. It was back in December 2021. That was THREE YEARS AGO. That was three years of, “I want to get back to this thing that I want to be doing.” I kind of feel like I just w...

I was able to get to bed around midnight like I want to. I had listened to the meditation lessons that my phone plays each night. And I felt really calm, but sleep just didn't happen. The health app says that I fell asleep at about 1:25am but I'm pretty sure that I remember seeing the alarm clock show 2:30. I woke up at about 7:30 and I felt alright. “Keto Insomnia” is a known thing when transitioning to the Keto diet. And this can last up to four weeks. So add that to the reasons and challenges to staying clean and sober. Because although I do feel more or less alright th...

The last several days I've woke up with a bit of a headache and some other “unwellness” stuff but they usually go away when I get up and moving. Today however the feet, ankles, and knees were just pain all day today. I'm seeing online that Keto can cause a deficiency in potassium and magnesium and that can cause cramping and pain in the muscles. I think I'll be adding those supplements to the shopping list for next week. I do like the idea that you should take all of your vitamins and nutrients through the food that you eat so if anybody has any suggestions for any food that I should be eating that contains the nutrients that I'm missing I would gr...
