Weight: 344.2 lbs ( 156.1 kg) BMI: 44.2 Waist: 57.5 in (146.1 cm) WtHr: 77.7% Breakfast: Bacon and Eggs Lunch: Baked Chicken Snack: Sea Salt Mixed Nuts Dinner: Bratwursts Drinks: Salted Coffee, Kroger Seltzer, Sugar Free Monster, Sober Week 4 (Day 30) YMCA: X Finally some progress on the waist. I know that it's going to be a “Vitamin P” kind of thing, but it would be nice if the waist line was as dynamic as the scale. I have noticed over the last couple of days the gut had been more “Saggy” and soft. Good news is that means I'm losing fat, bad news is that it's going to start drooping under my shirt if I'm not careful. But I'll take saggy gut over sore feet any day of the week. And on that point feet and shins felt amazing this morning. It sucked last night a screw came out of the back of my computer chair. I was able to put the screw back in. And it seems to be holding, but for a while I was thinking that I was going to have to buy a new one. That would kind ...

Weight: 345.8 lbs ( 156.8 kg) BMI: 44.4 Waist: 58 in (147.3 cm) WtHr: 78.4% Breakfast: Bacon and Eggs Lunch: Divan Dinner: Pork Steak, Garden Salad with Ranch Dressing Drinks: Kroger Seltzer, Sugar Free Red Bull, Kroger Energy Shot Sober Week 3 (Day 26) YMCA: X I was wired for sound all night last night. I could NOT fall asleep. Sitting at my computer I couldn't even keep my head up. But going to bed I felt like I was hyper charged or something. I tried doing meditation and breathing exercises. But I was distracted by the feeling of my pulse pounding through my hands. Sleep tracker says that I fell asleep around 1:25 but I'm pretty sure it was closer to 2am. It does show that I got considerably more “Deep Sleep” than I normally do so maybe once I passed out I passed all of the way out. FINALLY progress at last. A week and a half into the year and finally under the starting weight of the year. I can't help but think that there might be a connection to how closely I...

Editing Spreadsheets For New Years Eve Keto/Sobriety Blog Dec 31, 2024

Weight: 346.8 lbs ( 157.6 kg) BMI: 44.5 Waist: 58 in (147.3 cm) WtHr: 78.4% Breakfast: Bacon and Eggs Lunch: Bratwursts Dinner: Grilled Pork Steaks Drinks: Salted Coffee, Sugar Free Monster, Kroger Seltzer,Sugar Free Red Bull, Rockstar Focus Sober Week 2 (Day 15) YMCA: X Two full weeks sober, hadn't done that since July. And broke that streak on Independence Day at Day 19? I think. Day 19 was the last day I started a blog, I don't know if I had started that blog post in the morning and in the evening just decided to buy beer for the Forth of July. But I do have to say that I haven't been mentally or physically craving beer. Doritos hell yeah, but not really beer or alcohol. The real fight has been against habit. When I get off of work, or do the grocery shopping there's the beer sitting right there. Or the days off, like yesterday, I'll sit around thinking that I hadn't bought the beer yet. Spent a lot of time updating the spreadsheets for 2025. It is real...

It's kind of encouraging that I've went a week without beer without much struggle. But also kind of disappointing that it's been nearly half a year that I've gone a full week without beer. I'd go three or four days, and then back to it. Today, understandably, was insanely busy at work. Thankfully most people understood why it was busy. But of course we had the, “Wow, it's really busy today!” or “Why is it so busy today?” Not sure if people were smart asses or dumb ones. Even the coworkers who are normally the ones I have to constantly chase after were able to keep rushing on their own. Which I...

Weight: 349.6 lbs (158.5 kg) BMI: 44.9 Waist: 57 in (144.8 cm) WtHr: 76.4% Breakfast: Bacon and eggs Lunch: Baked Bratwursts Dinner: Pork Steak Drinks: Salted Coffee, Kroger Seltzer, Monster Zero Ultra Sober Day 3 I'll admit, I'm a wimp. I turned on the heater right after I posted that I didn't want to turn on the heater. Saying that you waited until halfway through October to turn on the heater for the first time should be a brag, but there has been some bullshit high temperatures lately. I thought that I had the heater set to about 70 (21 c) but I somehow had it up to almost 80 (27 c) I'm not going to get a recipe video done today. I want to do a weekly Ketovore recipe, but roommate is a over-the-road trucker and he is on his home time. And I don't like making videos when he's home. I don't think that it's fair to him to sit aside his very little time off because I want to do something silly on the internet. I am working on re-editing a video for...

Oh, yeah. I was supposed to be doing something Keto/Sobriety Blog September 30, 2024

Weight: 347.4 lbs ( 157.6 kg) BMI: 44.6 Waist: 57in (144.8 cm) WtHr: 77% Breakfast: Bacon and Eggs Lunch: Instant Pot Chicken Drumsticks and Thighs Dinner: Pork Steak Drinks: Pot of Coffee (1 t-spoon salt) Many Cans Kroger Seltzer Sober Day 2 I'm not going to lie, I woke up this morning doing math. I only have $40 in my checking account (don't worry my savings accounts each have about $100) The idea that I was balancing what size of case of beer do I want to buy. If I buy a small 12 pk I'll be too tempted to finish it all off and go buy another case, or if I buy a bigger case I'll have less money to last until Thursday when I get paid. And then I got an email. An email reminding me that I have a doctors appointment for a Venipuncture tomorrow. That really put me into a mood. “Oh, yeah. I was supposed to be getting healthier!” The thing that I've been ignoring for the better part of the last six months. I've just been sitting on my butt drinking beer. Feeling...

W eight: 334.2 lbs (151.6 kg) BMI: 42.9 Waist: 55 in (139.7 cm) WtHr: 74.3% Breakfast: Bacon and Eggs Lunch: Mexican Ground Beef and Zucchini with Cottage Cheese Dinner: Pork Steak Drinks: 2x cups of Coffee Black, 500ml Bottled Water x4, Kroger Energy Shot x2, Kroger Seltzer Water Lemon Lime x5 Sober Week 1 (Day 9) Having a hard time the last couple of days getting up and going. Soreness in my lower right back. But it's more mentally struggling. I just couldn't get enough “Go” to go yesterday, but I did feel a considerable difference in the Mental and Physical energy yesterday. People were dumb AF but I'm starting to feel more “UP” on the days that I'm able to work out in the morning. Had Bacon and Eggs for breakfast after I got home from the YMCA. This is a very satisfying habit to get into. But I had used up the last of my bacon this morning and I forgot to pick up more bacon after work this evening. But I do have a Strip Steak in the fridge that I can have breakf...

Weight: 334.8 lbs (151.9 kg) BMI: 43 Waist: 55.5 in (141 cm) WtHr: 75% Breakfast: Bacon and Eggs Lunch: Lazy White Lasagna mixed with Cheesy Ground Beef Casserole Dinner: Pork Steak Drinks: Kroger Seltzer Cranberry Lime 2, Kroger Seltzer Water Lemon Lime 2, Kroger Seltzer Water Watermelon Sugar Free 3, Rockstar Silver ICE, 500ml Bottled water x6 Sober Day 3 Last night when I went to bed the daily meditation was titled “Hakuna Matata” and I couldn't help but think, “What a wonderful phrase.” But the voice over spent half of the lesson talking about The Lion King. And it kind of ruined the clever feeling of catching the reference. It's also kind of hard to fall asleep when you're listening to the meditative version of “Hakuna Matata”, it is a bit distracting Was a bit slow at falling asleep last night. Even with the meditation lessons. I wasn't as angry as I was the previous night. And I was quite relaxed, I just couldn't pass out. I am glad that I got to bed by m...

Weight: 336.2 lbs (152.5 kg) BMI: 43.2 Waist: 55.5 in (141 cm) WtHr: 75% Breakfast: Bratwursts Lunch: Pork Steaks Dinner: 3x Burger Patties with Cheddar and Pepper Jack Cheese slices Drinks: 4x Pepsi Zero, 4x Pepsi Cherry Zero, 4x Dr Pepper Zero, 4x Dt Mt Dew Sober Day 6 Having a hard time getting up and going. I'm not a fan of the term, “Keto Flu” I mean the alliteration of “Keto Cold” fits so much better. This might be TMI but I struggled with the craps today. Knees and back are popping and cracking like crazy also. I do wonder if this is because of a lowering of pressure on the joints or some other result of lowering carbs The last day or two have had rather impressive drop in weight. Not sure if that is due to the “magic” of the keto diet, or just because I'm not eating the rather ridiculous amount of food that I eat when I'm not doing my diet. Had a late breakfast as I woke up a bit late. I normally have bacon and eggs, but I just decided to have something differ...

Minecraft and Salty Coffee Daily Keto/Sobriety Blog December 18, 2023

Weight: 334.6 lbs ( 151.8 kg) BMI: 43.0 Waist: 56 in (142.2 cm) WtHr: 76.4% Breakfast: Egg Stuff Lunch: Beef Hot Dogs Dinner: Pork Steak Drinks: Couple cups of coffee with a teaspoon of salt and a splash of cream, Quite a few cans of Seltzer water of various flavors Weeks Sober 3 (Day 23) Not a very productive day today. I am using the last of the Paid Time Off that I have for the year. So I'll have four days off instead of two and when I got up this morning my computer updated the video driver and I thought it'd play games a bit better (it's been looking a bit rough lately) but what game did I play to see if my computer is playing games well? Minecraft. Not the game that pushes the computer the most. I was just going to start it up for a bit, but I kind of got pulled in. I just kind of looked up and it was close to 10 hours later. I really didn't even do anything. I really just flattened out an area to start a farm and the wall to go around it. I did explore a b...

Weight: 345.8 lbs (156.9 kg) BMI: 44.4 Waist: 57. in (144.8 cm) WtHr: 77% Breakfast: Bacon and eggs Lunch: AI Marinated Grilled Pork Steaks Dinner: Chili Mac Drinks: Cup of coffee with cream, 8x Diet Mt Dew, 8x Diet Dr Pepper Weeks Without Beer 2 (16 Days)      I just realized it this morning, but once again I am off for the week on the week that is on the week that the Daylight Savings time changes. This tends to happen a lot. Just out of happenstance, I just happen to be off on the week that Daylight Savings Time changes. I'm flexible enough that it really doesn't effect me much. I had woken up at around 8am this morning (even though I had set my alarms for 6) that's not much off from the time I usually wake up. I did drive myself crazy for a while comparing the time it was and what it would have been without the time change. But I convinced myself to stop doing that because it'd just drive me crazy with how much time I “lost”. I think it's lost because it bein...

The last several days I've woke up with a bit of a headache and some other “unwellness” stuff but they usually go away when I get up and moving. Today however the feet, ankles, and knees were just pain all day today. I'm seeing online that Keto can cause a deficiency in potassium and magnesium and that can cause cramping and pain in the muscles. I think I'll be adding those supplements to the shopping list for next week. I do like the idea that you should take all of your vitamins and nutrients through the food that you eat so if anybody has any suggestions for any food that I should be eating that contains the nutrients that I'm missing I would gr...

Weight: 344.2 lbs (156.1 kg) BMI: 44.2 Waist: 58 in (147.3 cm) WtHr: 78.4% Breakfast: The Meat and Cheese out of a Deli Italian Style Sandwich Lunch: Mushroom Soup Dinner: Pork Steak Drinks: Kroger energy shot, 2L Caffeine Free Big K Diet Cola Days Without Beer: 1 (Technically)      Might be after midnight by the time I get this uploaded, but F-it, things are not going start happening unless I start doing them. I was also kind of nervous about posting a blog post because it took me too long to get the Weekly Weigh In before work, so it was one of those days when I recorded before work, edited at lunch, and posted after work. I think this might be a sustainable work plan, but had a hard time getting going this morning. The hang up is I shared the video on Facebook, and when I'm getting this done I'm also going to share it on Facebook and I don't want to annoy people with multiple notifications of "Mark Shared a Link" notifications. Or if I share too many lin...

My Feet Hurt Too Daily Blog Sep 25, 2022

Didn't get a chance to stand on the scale this morning Breakfast: Doritos w/Queso Lunch: Johnsonville Jalapeno Cheddar Sausages, Macaroni Salad Drinks: 2x Sparkling waters, 2x Kroger Energy shots, 2L Pepsi Zero Wild Cherry Dinner: Pork steaks      Finished off the Doritos and queso for breakfast this morning I forgot about the “Don't eat unless hungry” part of the plan. I'm not going to beat myself up about it very much. It is something that I do wish I would stick to. But I'm not going to hate myself if I don't stick to it.      Macaroni Salad sounded really good during lunch. A coworker that I've told that I am wanting to do a low-carb diet asked me if macaroni salad is low-carb. I don't think that they were trying to call me out, or be snarky or anything. I just think that they were trying to make conversation. But I had to sheepishly explain that I was just falling for a craving.      It was one of those amaz...

Claritin is freaking awesome! Daily Blog 9-1-2022

Weight: 353.6 lbs (160.4 kg) BMI: 45.4 Waist: 58 in (147.3 cm) WtHr: 78.4% Breakfast: 2x breakfast burritos Lunch: Spangles Jalapeno Bacon Cheeseburger meal Dinner: Pork steak with sugar free BBQ Sauce Drinks: 2x Sparkling water, 5 hour energy shot mood: relived      Claritin is freaking awesome! Eyes and head is still a bit tender, but at least I don't feel like the living dead. Voice still sounds rough, but I sound more rough than I feel. Still didn't get anything done before work. I just justified it by telling myself that I'm off Friday and Saturday this week. So I have the next two days off. That is a nice thing to say. That is not something that I get so say very often. Even the weeks that I get two days off in a week they are very rarely together. The trick is to do the stuff tomorrow that I've been meaning to do all week.      I felt a bit floaty at work. But that might have been the combination of the allergy medicine and the leftover al...

Trying to keep going Daily Blog 8-7-2021

Weight: 354 lbs (160.6 kg) BMI: 45.4 Waist: 57 in (144.8 cm) WtHR: 77% Breakfast: Bacon, eggs, coffee with cream Lunch: Deli Prepackaged Chef Salad, Sugar free monster energy, small bag of crunchy Cheetos Dinner: Pork steaks, Heinz 57, 12pk Bud light I woke up this morning. It did take me a bit to wake up properly, but that is a bit of the “A body at rest tends to stay at rest” kind of thing. And a bit of the fact that I finished that entire package of corona hard seltzer. But when I did manage to convince myself to get up I got a text from a coworker asking me if I could come in early; she had weekend plans that she hadn't planned for. I'm a bit annoyed by this, but I am pretty close to 40 hours and I'm not exactly in the position to turn down hours (not in an a precarious place so there is no need to worry, it's just that I could be in a slightly better position financially.) And she only wants me to come in a half an hour early. Whatever, a bit annoying, but a...

Daily Food Blog 8/3/18

Weight: 344.6 lbs Waist: 55 in Mood: tired Breakfast: slept in, didn't get a chance for breakfast Lunch: 5x Cheddar Bratwurst Dinner: 2x Pork steaks (1.5 lbs), Couple of cans of Bud light, Brussels Sprouts, garden salad Notes: got called in early for work so I didn't get a chance to walk to work or get breakfast done, But I'm so desperate for hours at work I wasn't in a position to turn down any hours. I really didn't plan on having pork steaks for dinner, but I haven't had a chance to do dishes so I had to grill something and grilled chicken didn't sound that appetizing. But seriously I need to get on track on meal plans. If just for the sake of budgeting, just grabbing some steak after work because I didn't want the food I have isn't good for any of my strategies. My feet still hurt from walking to work yesterday. And working a split shift today didn't help much. Altogether I worked about 8 hours, which would hav...
