I actually moved my scale around to make sure that there wasn't anything underneath it. The watch scan says that there was a pretty big drop in muscle, but there was also a big drop in water weight. Which makes since because of the last couple of days. But the scan says that fat is up a little On the way home from the hospital with Roommate I happened to drive by where the new YMCA is going to be and wow that is going to be huge. Roommate was surprised that I cared because he thought that I had quit going. And it wasn't that I had given up on the idea of going to the Y it's just that I was waiting for him to go back to work. He asked me why h...

Today is up 2.4lbs (1 kg) but I'm pretty sure that is mostly snot in my head. I'm also a bit frustrated that the waist is up also. But fluctuations happen. I didn't have coffee again today as just as I was finishing the bacon and eggs Roommate came downstairs and announced that his nurse was on the way. I helped him wrangle his dog into his room but then I had to go to work. And good gravy everybody else came into the store also. I am so glad that nobody complained to me about it being busy. There's a promotion for 4x Fuel Points on Friday, the Super Bowl is this weekend, and they're talking about snow next wee...

He asked me if the Seltzer water had a lot of sodium in it because the doctor told him that he was retaining a lot of water. The seltzer cans say “Low Sodium” Roommate said that he's going to quit drinking my seltzer water. Which works for me because I was buying those to quit drinking beer. Looking at the Keto Day count and the Sober Day counts kind of makes me go on a bender to reset both numbers and sync them up. I know that this is an unwise idea. But ever since I got the idea I can't shake it. “Oh, come on. One day wouldn't hurt” “It's not like you'll go back to buying cases of beer a day” But I do know ...

I thought I had woken up peeing the bed, but the wetness in the bed was only in the top half of the bed. I really had to pee several times during the night. And I had really low energy all morning. A google search says that this could be a range of issues ranging from certain STI's (probably not) High Stress (I haven't been that stressed lately) Changes in hormones (maybe from changing diet?) Certain Cancers (that's unnerving) Low Blood Sugar (I'm guessing on this one) I'm guessing hypoglycemia as I did wake up again today with a hangover like headache, muscle weakness, and tired all day. I was really zapped for energy all day. Even while drinking...

Not sure what that's about.  A bit annoyed by the measurements this morning. Reminding myself that daily fluctuations happen. I think I might have had a bit too much meatloaf last night. Then again justifying daily fluctuations is a shortcut to insanity. And one of the reasons they say to avoid doing daily weigh ins. The Amazon order finally charged my account. It still says that it's going to be delivered tomorrow. And the site says that it was shipped, but the only update on the “See all updates” is “Package left the shipper facility” it doesn't say where it's coming from, but it does say that it's still scheduled to be ...

However sitting at the computer my knees and elbows are snapping and popping like crazy. I stepped on the scale to do a weekly weigh in, but Roommate woke up before I could do the video. It is kind of exciting to be down to the level of making progress for the year again. Again, happiness is not a number on the scale, but progress really is the best motivation. Last night Roommate said that he was going to do laundry this morning before I had to go to work so I was goi...

Waistline is making progress, but it's hard to get as excited about the waist as it is the weight. I keep reminding myself that, “Happiness is not a number on the scale, or the measuring tape” Happiness would be standing up without having to build up the courage to brace for the oncoming pain in the feet. Walking around without cringing in pain. Or the mind improving. Kind of ironic that I'm writing this after work and can't think of a way to expand on that point. But I am feeling that my mind/mood has greatly improved over the last couple of weeks. I worked earlier tha...

So much energy it lasted into the night. I went to bed right after posting last night. But I didn't fall asleep until well after 2am. I was doing the rotisserie chicken until then. I even ran back downstairs to make sure that I put the bacon away. Yesterday I only had two strips of bacon so I wasn't able to have breakfast at home. I did remember to buy more bacon as I left work, but I wasn't sure that I had put it in the fridge. And it would have really irritated me if I had just left the $15 slab of bacon sitting on the counter top all night long. And yeah, I did put it away, I was just jumping out of bed because my brain was running wild. Ro...

Feet didn't hurt, so that was nice. But had a hard time building momentum. It is comfortably warm in the apartment, which I THANK CHRIST for. A couple of years in a row the heater has had issues. Landlord is really good at coming out and fixing problems as soon as I report them, but I REALLY wouldn't want to wake up to the “Arctic Polar Vortex Blast” that we've been having for the last couple of days with the heater crapped out. It is so cold my mom is even cussing about it. Speaking about the arctic polar vortex, I'm feeling sorry for the people in the south of the country. I've heard that Louisiana is getting about 8 inches (20 cm) o...

The good news is the hex screws that I thought were all stripped out were actually fine, it was just me being too drunk to work on them properly. (Another thing to add to the list of thousands of reasons I'm glad I stopped drinking.) I installed the extruder that I had been wanting to install for a while now. When I looked at Amazon to see how long ago that it's been sitting in my basement waiting for me to get around to install it. It was back in December 2021. That was THREE YEARS AGO. That was three years of, “I want to get back to this thing that I want to be doing.” I kind of feel like I just w...

I know that it's going to be a “Vitamin P” kind of thing, but it would be nice if the waist line was as dynamic as the scale. I have noticed over the last couple of days the gut had been more “Saggy” and soft. Good news is that means I'm losing fat, bad news is that it's going to start drooping under my shirt if I'm not careful. But I'll take saggy gut over sore feet any day of the week. And on that point feet and shins felt amazing this morning. It sucked last night a screw came out of the back of my computer chair. I was able to put the screw back in. And it seems to be holding, but for a while I was thinking that I was going to have to buy a new one. That would kind ...

Lunch: Baked Chicken Dinner: Hamburger Patties with Cheesy Garlic Bread Drinks: Salted Coffee, Kroger Seltzer, Sugar Free Red Bull, Sugar Free Monster, Sober Week 4 (Day 29) YMCA: X Finally got around to cooking that recipe video that I'm planning to upload next week. I wasn't able to do the taste test part of it because Roommate woke up while I was still cooking. But it did smell quite nice. And I took the opportunity to take inventory of the freezer to set up the meal plan for the week. The recipe that I cooked would have made a better lunch than a breakfast. The recipe called for sausage, but the sausage that I had was only good until today. But I wasn't confident that I would be able to cook it today so I picked up another pack of sausage last night on the way home from work. But as I was able to cook that recipe I ended up having an extra thing of sausage that was ...

I could NOT fall asleep. Sitting at my computer I couldn't even keep my head up. But going to bed I felt like I was hyper charged or something. I tried doing meditation and breathing exercises. But I was distracted by the feeling of my pulse pounding through my hands. Sleep tracker says that I fell asleep around 1:25 but I'm pretty sure it was closer to 2am. It does show that I got considerably more “Deep Sleep” than I normally do so maybe once I passed out I passed all of the way out. FINALLY progress at last. A week and a half into the year and finally under the starting weight of the year. I can't help but think that there might be a connection to how closely I...

I don't think that I'll be playing anything on my phone when I fall asleep anymore. I mean I sleep alright, but I don't want my phone lecturing me that I stayed up too late “watching YouTube” Got another pretty good down today. I'm still up for the year. But only 0.7 lbs (317 g) Who knows, perhaps I'll actually be making progress tomorrow. Got a bit of a hair brained idea this morning. I've been hearing a lot about Scurvy. Dr Berry and a lot of other influences I follow say that isn't a thing on carnivore because Beef actually has a enough Vitamin C, but I've been eating a l...

I did get to bed on time, more or less, and it didn't take me long to fall asleep. But the sleep record said I didn't fall asleep until almost 2 in the morning. I have a guess as to what might make the phone think that I was awake for so long. I'm thinking that it might be because I had set the phone to play some space documentaries to listen to while I drifted off. And I think that the phone saw that I was "watching YouTube videos" instead of being asleep. Clearly the phone was playing videos, and if the phone is playing a video I have to be watching it, right? There's no way I could be asleep while "watchi...

But the book I was trying to read was “ The Children of Húrin” by JRR Tolkien. Professor Tolkien is an amazing writer. He is great at building his world through his characters. The problem is I have a hard time remembering people by their names. So he'll spend three pages saying who this person is, where they lived, who is in their family, and then Oh, they died. Then he just says somebody elses name, and the story just expects you to know who they are.  It was odd this morning I woke up with Amazing Grace playing in my head. Going over the lyrics it is strange that Amazing Grace is thought of such a mournful song. It is singing about the blessings God has given ...

It is an AI inspired recipe Called Cheesy Spinach Sausage Bake. It was an easy thing to cook and it came out pretty well. Cutting up the onions did make my eyes burn for a while though. It took all day to edit the video. I just kept falling asleep here at the desk. I hope that isn't a indication on how people are going to react to the video. Took the dog out for a drive this afternoon while Roommate was with his nurse. It was unnerving that my tires gave a “Low Pressure” warning. I was getting that warning for the last couple of days. This is kind of upsetting because I just got a new set of tires back in the end of 2023 as a Christmas gift. In conversa...

I made a Weekly Weigh In video yesterday. Editing went long so I had to finish it after work. And it felt weird to make a Vlog, and then a Blog. Because of the weather I was stuck at the store for lunch. I shouldn't complain about the weight gain the next day if I'm going to have Doritos and Fried Chicken for lunch. Spent all evening burping after lunch. I'm thinking that the Fried Chicken makes me burp a lot. Roommate made a pot of chili last night and that's why I had corn chips earlier today. I took an inventory of the freezer today to set up the meal plan for the week. And I went to the store to get the ingredients for a couple of recipe vi...

I mean being up 0.1 to 0.4 pounds (45 to 181 grams) per day isn't an emergency, it's just that only having ups this early in the year makes the spreadsheets look kind of ridiculous. According to the current trend I'm going to be be 516.6 lbs (234.3 kg) by the end of 2026. I'm not sure if I'd like to be a quarter of a US Ton, but I'm pretty sure that my knees would sure as hell wouldn't. They're grumpy enough as it is. Yesterday it seemed like the entire state of Kansas was trying to squeeze through the two registers that they were nice enough to give us. This morning a guy...

It's unlikely that I'd get any Cosplay done as, well I don't think I'll be able to lose enough gut to fit into an Iron Man or Master Chief suit. But it would be nice to get some projects going again. Started off the day thinking that it was nice to start the day without the existential dread that I've been dealing with lately. I've been feeling a lot more optimistic lately. Not sure if that's the feeling of the New Year, or the lack of the downer that is alcohol. And dealing with the people panic buying was a lot easier than it has been...

I was a bit hesitant. Supposedly eating Black Eyed Peas at midnight is good luck for the new year. I've only tried it a couple of times. Including 2018, and 2020. Let's just say that those weren't very lucky years. But the beans turned out pretty good. I had microwaved them for a couple of minutes with a couple tablespoons of butter, garlic powder, onion powder, salt and pepper. A lot of people had asked me where the Black eyed peas were. I had to tell more than one person, more than once, that they were sold out. Had a bit of a hard time falling asleep...
