I was wired for sound all night last night. I could NOT fall asleep. Sitting at my computer I couldn't even keep my head up. But going to bed I felt like I was hyper charged or something. I tried doing meditation and breathing exercises. But I was distracted by the feeling of my pulse pounding through my hands. Sleep tracker says that I fell asleep around 1:25 but I'm pretty sure it was closer to 2am. It does show that I got considerably more “Deep Sleep” than I normally do so maybe once I passed out I passed all of the way out.
FINALLY progress at last. A week and a half into the year and finally under the starting weight of the year. I can't help but think that there might be a connection to how closely I've been following Keto over the last three days. The spreadsheet does show a pretty good drop over the last few days.
I worked earlier than I usually do so I didn't have time to have any coffee. I did have a couple Sugar Free Red Bulls. When I bought the second one later in the afternoon the lady running the self checkout sounded shocked when she asked, "You're having another one?!" I reminded her that I had just let her out for a smoke break.
Lots of energy again today, not as much as yesterday, but still good. But dealing with people panicking again because it's supposed to rain this evening. And it might be freezing rain. Second half of the day went surprisingly smoothly, especially since we had three people call in “sick”
I had a thought
this afternoon. This thought is not meant to be Age Discrimination. I
came across an article that suggested that the fall of the Roman
Empire could be partially attributed to Lead Poisoning over time.
Apparently there's Lead Poisoning that makes you just drop dead, but
there is another type that makes people have lower IQ's over time.
And supposedly it takes a lot of lead to process the amount of Silver
that the Romans used in money, art, wine making, etc. And that was as
far as I was able to read into the article before getting to the pay
wall for that article. But I couldn't help but think, they used to
put Lead in Gasoline. That must have spread lead all over the
country. They started putting lead in Gasoline back in 1921 and it
lasted until 1994. Heck, they only made using lead in pipes illegal in 1986.
Could the half brain-dead glassy eyed stare that the Boomers have be
because of lead? If you think about it, there were not very many
people in 1920's that had cars. But I'm sure that car use exploded
with the population after World War 2. So the so-called “Greatest
Generation” (probably the generation that came up with the
Generational Naming Scheme) “Silent Generation” “Generation X”
and the first half of the “Millennials” that were essentially
sprayed down with lead filled pollution. 73 years of lead
contamination, and lead causes a lowering of basic intelligence. I
can't help but think there might be an effect on the rest of our
health as well. (Lower intelligence causing worse decisions? Leading to compounding issues?) This is definitely something that needs research. But there are politicians that have announced that their intentions are to "Make America Great Again" Well it might take a couple of generations to phase out the damage.
Hands have been really dry lately. And the lotion that I put on feels shockingly cold. And I'm not sure what material my shirts have been made out of for the last couple of days but the dry skin on my palms keep snagging on it. Not in a painful way, but you'd be surprised how often one's palm come across one's torso. I'll be glad when Spring comes back around.
Feet are still stiff and sore. I'm guessing that I'm still working these new shoes in. But at least my feet are dry and warm.
I got to figure out how to change the blog's thumbnail picture when I share it on Facebook. That is not a great picture.
