Month 1 (Day 42)
Woke up in the middle of the night last night just DRENCHED in sweat. I thought I had woken up peeing the bed, but the wetness in the bed was only in the top half of the bed. I really had to pee several times during the night. And I had really low energy all morning. A google search says that this could be a range of issues ranging from certain STI's (probably not) High Stress (I haven't been that stressed lately) Changes in hormones (maybe from changing diet?) Certain Cancers (that's unnerving) Low Blood Sugar (I'm guessing on this one)
I'm guessing hypoglycemia as I did wake up again today with a hangover like headache, muscle weakness, and tired all day. I was really zapped for energy all day. Even while drinking the whole pot of coffee. It was 1pm and it still felt like 8am like I was still waking up. Roommate asked me if I was drunk. Sober 42 days, so no on that. But three full days of Keto. Maybe it took that long to burn through the stored sugar and now I'm in the early stages of Gluconeogenisis? Or maybe Gluconeogenisis is slower because of the last three years of heavy drinking? (Alcohol damages the liver and that's where Gluconeogenisis happens) I'll give it a week or two, if I'm not feeling better by then I'll schedule a doctors appointment. I was planning on doing that when I got to 30 days Keto anyway. (Insert joke about seeing a doctor after getting healthy) I haven't had a face to face with him in over a year.
When I came downstairs after I woke up I was kind of scared because I felt so cold I thought the heater was out again. I was confused when it did kick on because it felt like it was blowing cold. Later in the evening I was starting to feel quite warm. Maybe because I got up and moving around.
Breakfast I had a slim chuck steak that I had bought a while back. It was one of a “family pack” that I had picked up, but those steaks were so thin that it would have been a joke to have one of them as a meal by themselves like I do with other steaks. It was so small that I decided to have a couple slices of bacon and 4 eggs to go with.
I had a late lunch. But it was an easy lunch of just throwing some chicken into the oven. But it really was quite filling.
I once again I
spent too much on groceries. I didn't have enough meat for the meal
plan. So I picked up a set of Bratwursts and a Pork Butt that I had
the lady at the store cut into steaks. I was going to pick up some
Beef Steaks, but the only “Family Packs” had packs of three. So
if I were to have enough steaks for me and Roommate I'd have to buy
two packs of steaks which would have been prohibitively expensive. I did pick up ingredients for Cheeseburger Soup and Keto Stroganoff. These are usually what I'd have for Lunch (The plan is Bacon and Eggs for Breakfast, Casserole/Soup for Lunch, and then Meat for Dinner) But I'm not going to be able to afford to keep buying steaks for every night. I did pick up some salmon fillets as well
Doing dishes this evening was a lot easier than I thought it was going to be. I was hesitating on cleaning the loaf dish from the meatloaf that I cooked the other night because it looked like it had grease and cheese burnt all over it. But it all just wiped right off with hot soapy water.
I'm a bit annoyed with the Amazon delivery. Sure it did deliver today like they said they would, unlike last time. But I was hoping that it'd be delivered today because today was my day off for today. And it came in so late I really didn't have time to mess with the 3D printers like I was wanting to. But then again I shouldn't complain too much, it was delivered without delivery fees.
I'm going to go to bed early. I'm telling myself that I'm going to try to read a bit of The Children of Húrin novel that I've been working on, but to be honest I'm probably just going to go to sleep.
