I just kind of sat here at the computer counting down the time until I had to go to work. I worked Noon to Nine closing the Customer Service Desk instead of the normal 11a-8pm Supervisor shift that I usually do. I drank an entire pot of coffee, but I'm just sitting here zoned out. I had thought a couple of times that I need to get a plan together for what I'm going to cook on Tuesday for the weekly lunch. But then I zone back out. First half of the day went really smoothly. Not sure if I should write this down. This is being logged at lunch. I worked a 3:5 split so I went to lunch at 3pm and will have to work 4 to 9. The challenge of the first half of today was that I wasn't supervisor I was s...

trying to think of something to say about today. But as soon as I got home I just kind of shut down. It was crazy busy all day long. I didn't have a chance to take any notes.

I had several people ask if I'm working on Easter. And they ask if we're open on Easter. And they'll act shocked that the store is open and I'm working on a Holiday. I'm pretty sure that they would be the same people that would complain that the store was closed if they would have had let us have the day off.

Allergies are going nuts again today. Nose is plugged up like hell. I've had several people once again tell me that if I'm sick I need to stay home. But again. It is just seasonal allergies. Every time the seasons change my sinuses go nuts. Somehow I don't think that taking a month off every three months is going to be a very viable plan. At least the nose has stopped running. But now I sound like I'm muffled when everybody around me is yelling their heads off.

Not really anything happened at work other than being crazy busy. It was nice that they had anticipated it to be busy so they scheduled extra help. People were scheduled as “training” but they were just extra checkers and carry-outs. There was a little bit when all five registers were going and we had enough baggers to man all of them. It made me feel a bit nostalgic for the pre-pandemic era when we had help to ring people up.

Money is still tight, but I did have an energy shot and a Powerade (not sponsored) later in the afternoon I have some Sugar Free Monsters (Not Sponsored) in my locker, but I didn't have time to run back to the break room and it only takes a second or so to chug the sports drink.

I did have a lady threaten to “call corporate” because she had bought 2 hams and the sale price is limit 1. Okay, who's idea did she think that was? And another lady ran out of the store screeching because she had gotten a large container of strawberries that was close to $7, and she was wanting them for the smaller container's price of $2.50. and she was upset that I wouldn't change the price on the large container of strawberries. I don't get paid commission so I don't care how much stuff rings up for. But I'm not going to change the prices on things just because you don't like how much they cost. I don't get paid to haggle.

Baked some pork steaks for dinner. Previously in the day I thought about baking the salmon that I have thawed out in the fridge. But I had forgotten about that when I went to prepare dinner and the pork steaks were sitting right on top of everything else. I will need to remember that salmon pretty soon though, I don't want it going bad just because I didn't get around to cooking it.

Early post today because I'm just so tired. It took a lot to come up with the stuff to say.
