Had another disturbing dream last night, or rather this morning. In the morning while I was drifting in and out of sleep I had these weird dreams where I found online where you could find Batman Memes. And found a GIF where Val Kilmer's Batman would wink at you when you opened your phone. And in the dream I dreamed that it was $600 for these memes, but I didn't buy them. But then I "woke up" in the dream, so dream inside dream I checked my balances and I had bought the $600 Batman memes, and then spent another $800 X-men memes. I woke up, truly woke up, in what felt like having a heart attack immediately checking my bank accounts. There's no way in hell that I would be able to spend that kind of money on "memes" And that's not really what I would have spent money on anyway.
Hard to shake the
blah this morning. The thought of “nothing that I do is ever going
to be enough” from yesterday was really hard to shake.
The gas light
came on the other night. I was trying to do the math to see if the 30
miles estimate would last until payday and it just didn't look like
it and I didn't think it would last until Tuesday when I would do the
normal check writing. But if I write a check today it should pass on
Tuesday and I can write another check to cover that check. AKA Check
Cheat. Not something that I've done in a while, and not something
that I like doing. So I was going to go into the store a couple of
minutes early to do that.
Unfortunately
(TMI) today was the first time in a couple of weeks that I was able
to finish the pot of coffee. So just as I was about to leave I had an
epic coffee poo. I'm pretty sure that I met my monthly weight loss
goal on the john right there. I was sitting there so long my feet
were starting to fall asleep. Frustratingly it didn't leave me much
time to get to work.
When I did get
out of the door I did have a few minutes to grab a Red Bull (not
sponsored) and write the check.
But the lady running the Self
Checkout was the lady who is just a Jabber Jaw. She was standing off
to the side talking with her friends. She was the one who was rumored
to be using Face Time on her phone.
I was trying to write a
check, the guy next to me had a scale error and another register had
a guy trying to shove money into a register that had “Card Only No
Cash” sign on it as the register was broken. But she was standing
there just chatting. I started yelling her name. I was full lung,
hands cupped around my mouth yelling her name. She finally
reacted...to the guy with the scale error. And then she went over and
started chatting with the guy trying to put money into the broken
register, while I was standing behind her yelling, trying to get her
to take my check.
She still hadn't reacted to me. She transferred the
guy from the broken register to the cashier station, eventually
taking his money there while she still hadn't reacted to me standing
there yelling her name. After she took his money the Trans person
came over and said that 'She' was going to take over for the lady who
I was yelling at to take my check.
The first lady said, “Oh, 'He's'
going to take over for me!” And the Trans person corrected her and
said, “Actually, I identify as female”
I'm starting to identify
as pissed off because I'm being ignored and I'm needing to go clock
in and nobody seems to hear me yelling for anybody to take my check.
The first lady starts taking the money out of the register so they
could go do a audit of the drawer because whenever the cashier
changes at the Self checkout we have to audit the drawer.
I'm
still standing there YELLING THAT SHE NEEDED TO TAKE MY CHECK! She
suddenly forgot how to process a check. She kept opening the drawer
and starting to put the check in without transferring the order over
to the cashier station. She started putting it into the coupon slot,
she started pressing the “cancel” and “clear” button. I kept
chasing people away from the register where my drink was rang up on
I was getting pretty close to just shoving her out of the way and
doing it myself. I don't think that would look very good over the camera though.
Most of the day went pretty smoothly of course there were plenty of ChristiansTM that were "shocked stunned" that we were working/open today. while they complained that the pharmacy was closed. And again a lot of people were surprised that we don't sell beer on Easter Sunday. Although we never sell beer on any Sunday.
I did get a chuckle when I made a realization. I was told that a girl who works in Customer Service had put her 2 week notice in. She had just been trained to do Bookkeeping and her last day will be May 3rd. What I had found funny is that her last day is May 3rd. And on May 4th to May 10th I'm going on my Vacation. That's going to leave them with really slim pickings in the customer service desk for that week. I'm usually pretty flexible on when I take vacations. But that week of May includes my Birthday and that's the week I'll argue over. And they screwed me over last year.
Something that is making me a little nervous is that I can't seem to find the note that I made for the day. I had it at work, I'm pretty sure it's in my Apron Pocket. But it's not something that I would like to leave around the store. I wouldn't want it to be seen as a note for a manager or someone to see as a communication or something.
I did leave a note that I do want someone to see though. There were a pair of crackheads that came through a register insisting that they were able to read a number off of their phone to use as their Foodstamp card. And they were rather offended that I wouldn't allow them to do that even though they insisted that the, "Lady in Customer Service said they could" somehow I doubt that conversion happened, but if someone is saying that is acceptable, they need to be corrected about that.
