I just kind of sat here at the computer counting down the time until I had to go to work. I worked Noon to Nine closing the Customer Service Desk instead of the normal 11a-8pm Supervisor shift that I usually do. I drank an entire pot of coffee, but I'm just sitting here zoned out. I had thought a couple of times that I need to get a plan together for what I'm going to cook on Tuesday for the weekly lunch. But then I zone back out. First half of the day went really smoothly. Not sure if I should write this down. This is being logged at lunch. I worked a 3:5 split so I went to lunch at 3pm and will have to work 4 to 9. YMCA: Weights and Cardio

When I got up I debated with myself if I wanted to go to the YMCA this morning. I was reminding myself of how well I felt on the days that I did go last year. But I'm on vacation, I could just sit at my computer playing Oblivion. I've gained a bit of weight over the last couple of days as I've been off of my diet, and last year when I was going to the Y I was making amazing progress. But I've heard that 80% of weight loss happens in the kitchen. You're only delaying going because it's new and different. Hard to argue against that.

I didn't last very long in the weight room as I'm just wanting to build the habit right now. It was a bit freaky because there was a guy in the weight room yelling about how the Russians are all on steroids. Kind of like one of the MMA fighters. Another moment of HE WASN'T UPSET OR ANGRY HE WAS JUST TALKING REALLY LOUDLY!! He kind of scared me off. He wasn't talking to me he was just RAMPED UP TALKING to another guy in the weight room. The other guy didn't seem like he was interested in talking. But LOUD GUY WAS STILL TALKING AT HIM!! I decided to duck out before he started talking at me. I didn't feel threatened by him, but I'm on vacation and NOT in the mood to be in conversations with cracked out strangers. I did get a 20 minute lifting session in. It was strange that the weight selecting pins in some of the machines are missing and others have Allen Wrenches stuck in them for replacements. Kind of makes me wonder what's going on there. A prank maybe? Kids from the High School next door messing around?

They're building a new YMCA Facility farther away from my house, it'll be nice to have a bigger facility, but it's unfortunate that it'll be farther away. The current one is handy because I can just walk around the high school and it's right there, but it is quite small. And the new one looks like it's going to be HUGE. I was hesitant to ask the guy working the front desk when the new facility is planned to open because I'm sure that just about everybody who has came through has asked the exact same question. It is a legitimate question, but I'm sure he's tired of answering it. He said that the plan is that new Y is going to be open in summer 2026 and they're going to shut down the old one.

The plan was going to be baked chicken for lunch. But somehow when I packaged it instead of having two drumsticks and two thighs I just packaged up two chicken thighs. I thought I'd need another “lunch” later in the day, but I just didn't get hungry.

I set up the slow cooker with a corned beef brisket. When it was done cooking I tired to slice it, but it just shredded up. It had good flavor, but eating shredded corned beef was just too much of a chore. And it kept getting stuck in between my teeth.

I didn't get around to doing anything with the 3D printer. I played Oblivion for too long. The game play is fun, but going to each town and closing their Oblivion Gate to recruit their town guard is getting a bit formulaic. Each of the levels have different layouts which I appreciate, but they all are basically fighting your way up to the top of the tower and picking up the sigial stone. And all of the dungeons are really dark. So it is hard to see.
