I pretty much passed right out when I went to bed last night. But the phone says that I didn't fall asleep until after 2am. It also says that I didn't get any “deep sleep” I do feel a lot better today than I did yesterday.
I was planning on going to the YMCA while Roommate was at his doctor's appointment as he usually goes quite early in the morning. But today his appointment wasn't until 11am and by then I was already dressed and had breakfast and I was too busy coming up with other excuses for not going.
I did get around to messing with the 3D printer. And was able to get it to print off the two front top pieces of the Master Chief Helmet. And I found that the printer has a handy feature as it connects to the WIFI I can slice the file on my computer, send the file through the cloud, and have it print out. I don't have to transfer the file from my computer to a memory card, go downstairs plug the memory card, scroll through the menus to find the file before I could print it. It's not that much of a hassle, but it does save a few steps.
Baked some chicken for lunch while the printer was going. I was a bit nervous because it was going just fine, but it was still just printing off the first part. And it was the longest I was away from the printer while it was going.
I had to restart the first two parts that I printed off because they had a hard time sticking to the bed. I thought that the third part had stuck as it was printing alright, but later in the print I noticed that a bit of the base came off of the bed. It's not going to finish printing for another hour or so, So I'm not sure how it'll turn out. It is still printing so it might still turn out alright.
Another fun feature that the printer has is the ability to have a webcam plugged into it so I can see the print going from here in my living room or even from my phone. I was thinking that it would be fun to somehow do a livestream of the printing on YouTube or something. Unfortunately the video quality is quite poor. I have done other videos with this webcam so I know that it isn't the camera. And the poor quality is how I didn't catch that the third piece came off of the bed. And also the video stream doesn't stay on very long. I think the camera stream is more to check to see if it's still printing more than to make for an entertaining live feed. I do however think that it would be interesting to somehow set that up. It did take me a bit of trial and error to place the camera because clipping the camera to the top of the printer it is hard to find an angle where the entire bed is seen. Clipping the camera to the bed worked for a bit, and then the nozzle pushed it off. I ended up getting a folding table that I have in the basement and propping it up against one of the old chairs. I am going to have to find a lamp to light it up as the light doesn't shine on the printer very well.
Grilling the hamburger patties was a little less exciting this time around than the last time. I'm not sure what the flames didn't flash up like they did last time. But I'm not complaining. It might not be a good thing to have that giant whoosh of flame.
