Didn't take time to eat breakfast, I needed to run to the bank to see what's up with my debit card. Still kind of annoyed that I'm not under 340 lbs (154.2 kg) but getting close!
When I went by the bank to see what's up with my debit card. And I'm more than a little annoyed by Avast antivirus. Apparently they had an automatic renewal charge on my account. And they didn't send me an announcement that they were going to charge me until I got an email saying that the payment was unsuccessful. As I was unaware that I had a charge coming up I didn't budget for it. And as I didn't have money in the account for the charge and I have a “Fresh Start” loan on my account I don't have overdraft privileges right now. So the payment was rejected. As the payment was rejected the bank flagged it as fraudulent. When the lady at the bank unlocked my card it took a bit of calling around to make sure that once the card was unlocked the charge wouldn't re-post once the card opened up. Which would still mess me up financially. I'm a little more annoyed by Avast than I am of the bank. I'd prefer a bank that is a little too suspicious than a one that isn't suspicious enough. I did cancel all future payments from avast, so hopefully there wont be any more surprise charges (from them at least)
I was having a pretty good day at work, until right before I had to go to lunch. I was thinking that the day was going suspiciously well. Until I noticed that it was five minutes past when I was supposed to go to lunch and one of the cashiers that was supposed to show up hadn't yet and the girl that was supposed to come in later and work until close had came in earlier to say that she wasn't going to work because they hadn't updated her online schedule. And THAT was when I was informed that the lady who hadn't shown up had called in several hours before but no one told anybody so now I'm down an afternoon cashier and a closing cashier. I was worried about the person that was supposed to cover my lunch because she hadn't shown up yet and she's supposed to be the one to close the customer service desk. But she was just running late. I agreed to stay for the girl that said that she wasn't coming in, but that still leaves us short another cashier. I told people that I'd be willing to stay until close, but I guess nobody heard me say that because when I got back from lunch they had someone else stay late. Oh, well, it would have been nice to have more overtime, but whatever. Heck it would have been nice if people actually came to work.
Last week was New Years, so right in front of the registers there was a display of corn chips and blocks of Velveeta cheese. That's why I made queso soup the other day. But it was still hard to stare at the corn chips for entire week. I took a sigh of relief when that display was changed out for this week. And then had a good chuckle when the corn chip display was switched out for a potato chip display. I don't really even eat very many chips, but there is kind of the struggle of you're not supposed to do something so you're now you're wanting to do that one thing that you've never really done anyway. Speaking of which I took a bit of time standing in front of the beer cooler on the way out of the store. I kept coming up with reasons, but I kept arguing back, “If you're justifying it, it's a bad thing”
'I could just buy a few'
“If you're justifying it, it's a bad thing
'I've been good for a
while' “It hasn't even been a full week, and if you're justifying
it, it's a bad thing”
'I could get some and just not tell anyone' “that would be lying, and not helping the issue also if you're justifying it, is a bad thing."
That took a lot of self control. And I think that's going to be my mantra for quite a few things.
