Really good drop on the scale this morning. It would be nice if that continued.
Didn't really do much before work. I worked 10:30 to 7:30. So it was a bit early for me to work. Not early enough to effect me much other than counting down how much time was left before I had to go to work.
Mom prepared Breakfast this morning. She told me that she felt guilty for not cooking dinner last night, but she wasn't feeling well. She's been having some serious sinus issues lately.
As I had threw away the last of the Apple Cider Vinegar yesterday I just had the coffee straight this morning. It tasted quite bitter. I'm used to having the sourness of the vinegar and the saltiness of the, um, salt that I was putting into the morning coffee.
Wow today was crazy busy. It was just swarmed all day. It was a bit frustrating as I was scheduled as the only Carryout for the first several hours and then when I was scheduled to give Supervisor her lunch break there was only one carryout scheduled to take over for me. So I was finally able to open another register, but the single carryout wasn't able to work both registers so people were getting upset that they couldn't get help out with their massive orders. I'm wondering if there's some big event about to come down as people are coming through with some MASSIVE orders.
At lunch I had the second half of the pork loin that I baked yesterday. I was more hungry than the half of a pork loin filet so I picked up some cottage cheese. And I was annoyed to see that I didn't have any more of the plastic knives in my locker so I had to go back and buy some more flatware. I have the funds to buy each of the item on my lunch break. The annoyance was I bought some cottage cheese, than went back to the break room, found that I didn't have the utensils to eat lunch, went to grab the flatware, went back to the break room to remember that I didn't have a drink as I had finished off the monster that I had in my locker several days ago so I had to go out and deal with the crowd again to grab a drink.
I asked around at work to find out if anybody else had weather alerts from the storm last night. And everybody who lived in town said that they did get alerts from the National Weather Service. The guess I have, and Mom concurs, that the reason that we didn't get phone alerts out here was because we were outside of the immediate danger of the storm. Why did they make the Warning that big if everybody in the range of the danger, who knows, but the explanation makes sense. I did have a conversation with some coworkers as they couldn't understand why everybody was freaking out about a “Tornado Warning” they had gotten the terms “Tornado Warning” and “Tornado Watch” turned around. More than one coworker had thought that a “Tornado Warning” was the off chance that a tornado may probably form. But a “Tornado Watch” is when the tornado was on the ground and you're watching out for the tornado coming your way. When it is actually the other way around were the watch is where there are indications that a storm might be strong enough to produce tornadoes, a warning is when there is radar evidence or a watcher sees a tornado on the ground. One guy insisted that he grew up in El Reno so he knew about tornadoes. But he Googled it and accepted the correction. Which was nice that he didn't just reject the explanation.
Was kind of frustrated again after lunch as I was by myself in the service desk and couldn't go out and open a register. I don't know what kept happening to Supervisor as she just kept disappearing just as the swarm started building up again. So people in line kept glaring at me as I was kind of just standing there for the most part, but I couldn't leave the desk unmanned to open a register. I was scheduled to work at the desk until 7 and then back to being a carryout from 7 to 7:30 and right at 7 a lady came up to the desk DEMANDING to know the website were the store lists all of the store policies. She was upset that the chicken that was on sale Buy One Get Two free wasn't applying to the chicken that was on markdown. Well, being markdown means it's no longer on the Buy One Get Two sale. She didn't like that answer and DEMANDED to see it written down that something being on one sale means it wasn't on another sale. The guy who was scheduled to close the desk paged for management and the manager who was on duty was the manager that she was already arguing with back in the meat department. I was the carryout so I announced that I was going to get carts. The look on the other Customer Service person's face was gold.
When I got home Mom had cooked a hamburger patty with an egg on top and I figured that grilling some cheeseburgers sounded good.
