Sober Year 1 (Day 557)
Keto Month 3 (Day 117) (167/365 Days 2026 Keto)

Another one of those mornings when I could have been productive, I could have done something, but all I did was count down the time I had left before going back to work.

I had plenty of time to cook the bacon and eggs for breakfast. I could have baked the bratwursts for lunch. But again I just sat around counting down how much time I had left before work until it was too late to do anything.

Step-Dad asked how my mouth felt this morning. Thankfully the teeth didn't hurt this morning. He said that tends to happen with some dental issues. It will feel like fire for a night, a week or so it'll feel fine, then in the middle of the night it'll flare up again.

Work today could best be described as, “Unnecessarily Loud” Good lord everybody in the store seemed to be screaming their head off. Just hundreds of people constantly just screaming. I have an idea that the more people in an area the dumber the average person gets, and wow today was one of those days that reinforce that idea. Not sure if it was just the first day back from vacation, the fact that it's close to the end of the month, the fact that there is a major holiday coming up, combination of the factors, or what. But all day long people were running around screaming.

Since I didn't get the bratwursts that I was planning on having for lunch baked I chose to have hot dogs and cottage cheese. I felt kind of guilty as I used up the last of the pepper in the break room's shaker. I like A LOT of pepper in my cottage cheese. I am kind of proud that the only thing that I spent money on today was the lunch as I did have energy drinks in locker.

It was strange people kept coming through Self Checkout with multi-cart massive orders. In theory there is no limit to how many items you can have on a single order. But the bigger the order the worse the Self Checkout registers get. They're not designed for a monthly shopping trip. People kept coming through with these massive orders and get angry because moving things around on the bagging scale causes scale errors, and items moved to the cart because the order was too big to fit on the bag scale triggered the camera system to imply that there were unscanned items left in the cart. Then they would screech about how much they hate self checkout...while using the self checkout. Yeah, there's only one register open, everybody chose to use self checkout. Why have cashiers standing around doing nothing if people are just going to go through self checkout? It kind of ruins the complaint that there is only one register open when that one cashier is standing there staring at their phone.

I complained about self checkout a lot on this post, but I was supervisor for most of the day. But it was busy enough at Self Checkout I was kind of stuck helping the cashier there as they were just one person effectively running six registers.

On the way home I took a cruise through the park just to have some quiet to recover from work. Not that home is really all that noisy, it was just nice to have a bit of time before listening to the yapping of the dogs.

Had some cheeseburger patties for dinner. Mom said that the dishwasher was ready and waiting for any dishes I used for dinner and it felt unwise to use a lot of dishes for dinner so I grilled some burgers using the patties Step-Dad was nice enough to buy for me.

There was a bit of question on how much to expect in fireworks out here in the outside of town. And yeah, some of the neighbors were launching some fireworks as the sun went down, the dogs were in the other room as I wrote this out, and I could tell that they were NOT impressed.
