Keto Day 6 (50/365 Days 2026 Keto)
This morning when I woke up the wind was going crazy. I was really more woken up by the screen door slamming more than it really being time to wake up. The wind was coming out of the south-southwest and the way that my apartment building is lined up the wind was blowing exactly in the way the door would catch the wind and SLAM open and then the wind would switch and then SLAM closed. I was expecting Roommate to wake up yelling about the wind banging the screen door. Yelling at the wind here in Kansas can really keep one busy. But when he came downstairs he seemed to be in a better than normal mood.
I was really mentally energized today. The energy really mellowed out during the day so this evening when I'm trying to write this out I really can't remember much of the day other than it was a really smooth day.
I was really expecting it to be a lot busier today than it ended up being. Today was the first Friday of the month with some serious weather expected to move in and it did pick up from time to time during the day, but it was all really smooth. Not in the “Supervisor's Curse” of standing around with nothing to do, but smooth enough to keep things moving.
The weather was a lot calmer than I was expecting. It was really blowing this morning, but the wind evened out over the day. It was still blowing of course, but it wasn't gusting like it was this morning.
Leading up to lunch I was getting REALLY hungry. It was a really long half hour before lunch because I felt like I was STARVING. But it was so close to the time to go to lunch it wouldn't make sense to buy a snack just to go home as soon as I ate a snack and eat lunch. I don't know if that's a Keto thing. But I have noticed that when I'm doing good on my diet I don't really get hungry until I'M HUNGRY NOW!! And the last couple of days I feel fine until I start getting tired. And then I'm just dead tired. But leading up to lunch as I was getting hungry I deiced to buy a pack of hot dogs to put into the chili that I had prepared.
The second half of the day was more of the “Supervisor's Curse” of waiting to go home for most of the second half of the day. There was a strange guy who was trying to pull money off of his prepaid debit card. The Assistant Customer Service Manager was trying to help him. He insisted that he was trying to pull off $5,000. But when he tried to run his card he was trying to run it as Credit, but you can't get money off of a credit card. He kept insisting that he got an email saying that he's going to get his tax return of over $5,000 and he showed her the balance on his card and it only showed a little over $5. He insisted that he was going to get a tax return so he wants his money NOW. Well, the thing is you can't get your money until you...get your money.
I almost had a heart attack after work. This morning I had used the last of the bacon I had on hand and was going to buy some more at lunch but had forgotten to pick some up so I wrote a “B” on my hand so I'll remember to grab some when I got off. I saw some lightning on the way home, but it was all to the east of town. I didn't even think about the bacon until I was driving into the parking lot of my apartment building. And then saw the "B" on my hand. I had noticed some moisture building up on the inside of my windshield, but it wasn't too bad I just turned on my car's defroster. And since I was out of bacon for breakfast tomorrow I decided to go to the store on Main Street as that is closer than the store I work at on 5th street. The moisture really started to build up on my windshield, but I could still see so I just turned up the fan on the defrost. When I got to the main street store I was disappointed that they didn't have the large package of bacon that I like to buy so I figured I was already half way there so I'd just go to my store. And right as I got out of the parking lot of the main street store the windshield of the car just GLAZED OVER. I could NOT see out of the windshield. I was so glad that I took the back exit of the parking lot so I wasn't blind on Main Street. I had to park for a couple of minutes for the defrost to clear the windshield. I even used my shirt to clear a small spot for me to see out of as I was parked. I had never seen it do that before. I just instantly seemed to reach it's dew point and got covered in moisture. And when it cleared it was just like a WOOOSH and it was clear. Roommate said that tends to happen when the pressure lowers and it usually means that there is a thunderstorm on it's way.
