Once I fell asleep I was down, but flopped around quite a bit. Had a strange dream this morning. I don't remember much about it as I didn't have time to write it down this morning before work. I do remember that it took place in the house that I grew up in my teens. I remember yelling at Roommate about how he was having other people were moving in without consulting me. I remember yelling in the dream and jumping awake hoping that I wasn't yelling out in my sleep as soon as I woke up I realized it was a dream. I worked 10:30 to 7:30 so that was two hours after I woke up to do anything, but I just couldn't wake up. I had psyched myself against doing ...

Sober Year 1 (Day 385)
Keto Day 1 (4/365 Days 2026 Keto)

Exciting to see three days in a row of down weights. Still not back to the beginning weight of the year (+2.1 lbs <~1 kg>) so the yearly projection is still saying that I'll be 627.3 lbs (284.5 kg) by the end of next year. A point of excitement is that I'm just 8.8 lbs (~4 kg) away from the 314.8 lbs (142.8 kg) That I started this project back in 2014. And if I get under that weight the Full Projection will start showing the weight going down towards my other targets!

Roommate got up early because he had his appointment at 9am. He told me that he tried to sign up for Food Stamps, but apparently he's making too much from his insurance to get the SNAP benefits. I told him before that if he gets SNAP he's getting his own food. He told me this morning that he's really tired of the Ham and Pork Loins/Ribs/Steaks etc. They're starting to make him physically ill. He said that it wasn't anything to do with my cooking. It's just that the meat itself is just not agreeing with him and his stomach. Unfortunately when I did the shopping yesterday that's what I bought. The thing is that Pork is what is cheep right now. I would like to do Dr Berry's BBBE (Beef Butter Bacon Eggs diet) but that's not going to happen for what I can tell for now. He said that he's going to appeal the decision on being declined the benefits. And he said that if I cook pork he'll figure something out for his own dinner. The exciting thing about that is last week I was playing with the financial program on what it would be like if I were to stop spending as much to feed him and I had dropped the weekly grocery budget from $150 to $100 and the savings really started stacking up. I had changed it back because he hadn't told me about his issues until today.

While he was at his appointment I was able to record a single video. It was more of an unhinged rant than an actual Store Story. But at least it was recorded. I didn't have time to record any other videos as I had to take time and clean up after the dog knocked over the trash can and spread trash all over the living room.

After his appointment he told me he had good news and bad news. And my heart sank. He said that the good news is that his insurance payment dropped to $80/month (I didn't ask how much he was paying before) However the bad news is that his leg is infected again. I don't know if it's the same infection as what started this entire mess. I asked him if that starts this entire thing over again and resets everything back to square one. He didn't know. I know that we're not married or anything so I have no oath for “Sickness and in health” But we have been friends since Middle School and it doesn't feel right to duck out on him because he's injured. On the other hand. Every couple of months when it looks like he's on the mend the wound gets reinfected again. I've talked about giving him another year to get better. I don't know how much of that was just talk. But that's starting to feel like a possibility.

Well, I did end up cooking the Southwestern “Detox” Soup for the lunch plan and make the inventory for the week. The fun thing is that the one pot of soup made 10 servings. So I figured that if I put 5 servings in the freezer and five servings in the fridge for this weeks meal plan that will last me until Sunday. Than Monday and Tuesday next week I'll just have Baked Chicken for lunch and then have the other five servings for lunch next week. And then have chicken or something for the two days of the next week.

I had the Enchilada soup for lunch today while the Southwestern Soup was cooking. And I'll admit that I had the chicken later on because I was bored.

I was too busy cleaning the kitchen, and moping from the news to edit that video. I'm not sure if it'll be up by this Friday or next. But at least it's recorded.

Roommate ordered a cheeseburger so I went ahead and baked the ham steak for myself and told him that I was only baking the one for myself because of his earlier "complaint" (doesn't seem like the right word, but can't think of a better one) and he said that was okay it's just he was literally getting sick from the pork and ham I was cooking for him.
