Was just about to make an early post, but then the writing program decided to crash and wiped out everything I wrote, and took out all of the spreadsheets as well. So I'll have to try to rewrite everything that I had written before. I really need to learn to save more often.

Thankfully I had put the weight for the day into my phone's health tracking app. And it is kind of exciting to lose 5 lbs (-2.3 kg) in one day. Not sure if that's going to happen very often, but I'll take it when it does.

I did the grocery shopping for the day today as I'm planning on doing laundry tomorrow. It's still strange to use the debit card to pay for groceries. I had to fight the thought that I was doing it “wrong” as I usually use checks to pay for groceries, but this week I already had the money already in my account. I did go over budget on groceries today, but not by much. A bit annoyed that I'm spending more on groceries in January 2026 than I did in January 2025, but again not by much and I've spent $125 less this month on food and dining than I did last January (mostly on Lunch and Soda)

I did have a chuckle listening to the radio on the way to the store as the DJ was talking about how studies show that people who drink caffeinated drinks might see visual and auditory hallucinations. Supposedly if you drink more than a couple cups of coffee that gives you enough caffeine that it's possible to see and hear things that aren't there. I had to laugh, I drink about a pot of coffee each morning and have another two or three energy drinks over the day and I have yet to see anything funny. I'm guessing as since you build a tolerance to caffeine, I just drink too much to see anything too out there

It was a while before I started cooking the lasagna for the lunch plan as Roommate slept in all day. I heard him going to bed at 5am and he didn't come back downstairs until 3pm. I had spent the morning, and a good chunk of the afternoon wondering if I should just go ahead and do the cooking and meal planning. On one hand it's not very polite to be making noise and smells while he's upstairs, possibly, trying to sleep. On the other hand, should I really be tiptoeing around my own home because he wants to sleep all day? That thought became irrelevant as just as I had finished off the last of the AI Pizza Casserole he came downstairs. He was in a notably better mood than he had been in a while.

I was surprised to find that it took three hours to assemble, prepare, and cook that lasagna and do the rest of the meal planning. Yeah, the lasagna is a bit more complex than the recipes I usually cook, but wow that shouldn't have taken that long to cook everything

I did think about making the Fathead Pizza for dinner to kind of go with the theme. But I was really tired after working on the lasagna. And I didn't want the strip steaks that were in the fridge already to go bad. I asked Roommate if he wanted a steak and he asked me if that was the only option available. I grilled the steaks. I was annoyed how much snow that was packed up on the back stoop so I, unfortunately, tracked a quite a bit of snow through the living room going out to the grill and back to the kitchen. And I ended up over cooking the steaks. I really need to get better at grilling steaks. 

But for now, I'm going to bed. I got really tired all of the sudden and it was a struggle to write this all out.
