Keto Day 1 (24/365 Days 2026 Keto)
Scale and waist is both up for the day, but not by much. Annoyed that the numbers are above the start of the year so all of the projections are showing up. At least the weight is still under the average for the year so far.
The apartment complexes around here all have metal roofs (odd spelling on the word roofs, you'd think that it'd be “rooves”) so as it's starting to get above freezing outside and the snow starts melting on top of the roof the snow slides off in a kind of avalanche. So this morning I was sitting here listening to videos and then hear a “Slooumph” as snow and ice slides off of the building. It keeps sounding like something fell down, but I keep reminding myself that it's just the snow sliding off of the roof. I'm so ready for spring. Especially as this morning I got a notification this morning predicting a “bomb cyclone” this weekend. Looking it up it's only supposed to effect the eastern seaboard, as to why I'm getting notifications here in the middle of Kansas, I don't know. Maybe they just want to spread panic and get more clicks.
I was feeling anxious this morning as tomorrow is payday, and tomorrow is when I'm going to be paying the bills for February. So I'm sitting here thinking 24 hours, just 24 more hours until all of the bills for the next month is going to be paid off! I was able to pay the bills for February last January as well, but I'm pretty sure that this is the first time ever that two months in a row that I was able to pay all of the bills and have all of the accounts above the minimum limit. I was at the point last year that I was paying off all of the monthly bills before the month started. I was able to do that until March last year when the oil sensor in my car broke and it crushed me and everything that was able to do so far. But even when I was paying the bills last year I still wasn't keeping the accounts above the minimum balance.
I'm going to have to bring my lunch with me to work as I have a half hour lunch today. It's kind of a mixed blessing. I'll get 39 hours for the week, but I'll have to have 2 lunches that are going to be half lunches. It kind of sucks to have a half lunch as I can't leave the store for lunch because as soon as I get home I'll have to go back to work. But at least I'll have the extra hour this week. I'm also kind of growling at my schedule all morning long as I'm scheduled to work Self Checkout for four and a half hours before lunch. I don't want to hype myself up against it going to work, but I hate running self checkout so much.
When I left for work I had to hurry back to the house to grab my lunch as I had left it sitting on my desk.
First half of the day went really smoothly. I was a bit nervous when I got there I was introduced to the trainee that was learning Self Checkout this week. The new guy seemed to have most of it down. He just wasn't used to running in six different directions at the same time. And to add to the challenge the store's security guard seemed to be constantly chatting with the kid. So it was 4:30 in the afternoon and jabber jaws security guard was talking to this kid who had no idea what's going on around him.
The security guard is really impressed with his 2004 Pontiac Trans Am. I overheard him saying that there is a body kit that you could buy that could make your car look like a F1 race car. It would still be street legal because underneath it'd still be a normal car. Which sounded strange to me because from what I know about F1 cars (admittedly very little) there's not a whole lot of "underneath" under a Formula 1 car. But whatever I kept shouting to the kid that the various registers are flagging "Help is on the way"
After running Self Checkout for four and a half hours my left foot was really cranky and my back was starting to twinge. Still considerably better than in the old shoes, but I was running around a lot in the new shoes.
Was closing checker 7-10pm. Closing Cashier is boring as balls as everybody was going through self checkout. And I heard a few people shout that they hated self checkout as I was standing there waiting for somebody to come through. I was kind of nervous as right at 10pm a lady who always does the online dilivery orders came running in, but she only grabbed a couple of things for her self.
I baked some brawts for dinne.
