Although I didn't sleep very well I was able to get up early enough to have breakfast and coffee. I was kind of worried that I would be able to do so. When I first go to work I was just dead tired but it was too busy to sneak away to get the Sugar Free Red Bull that I would normally drink at work (not sponsored) I was able to sneak in an energy shot. Those are technically cheaper than the energy drinks, but you get more out of the drinks than the shots. It is a small miracle that the...

Sober Month 10 (Day 305)

Woke up in a pretty chill mood. And most of the day I was pretty chill. I love this kind of weather. Sure it's dark and gloomy, but it's just so calm. I was supervisor all day, but I kept sneaking outside whenever I could. Just to get out and breathe. There were a couple of people that complained about it, but considering that it's late October and we still haven't had a hard freeze. I'll take it.

It was really disappointing going to work as just as I got there I was told that one of the carryouts was sent home because he was suffering from seizures, one carryout No-Called-No-Showed, the one carryout that showed up was one of the mentally disabled people, and he was getting off soon to be replaced with another mentally challenged carryout who is a shy quiet girl who acts like she's too scared to put items into bags. Made for a really long first half. People kept telling me that we needed more help, at least people seemed to back off of their complaint when I told them that we were understaffed.

I was able to sneak away to grab some more Energy Drinks and a Savage Slim Jim (not sponsored) for a snack. I'll admit that I didn't need to buy the meat stick for the snack. And at lunch I decided to stay at the store to have fried chicken and chips again today. I don't think I'll do that too often in the future. The chicken was dry and eating the entire bag of chips upset my stomach. And leaving the store for lunch kind of breaks up the day. Saying at the store the entire day really made the day feel like it stretched on for forever. And the saltiness of the lunch made me really thirsty later in the afternoon so I bought even more drinks so, even though I'm still under budget for the week. I still spent more than I would like to in a single day.

I am curious as to if some event was going on to bring a lot of people from out of town into the store as a lot of people today were trying to buy beer today. But today is Sunday and we can't sell any alcohol. At least I didn't have anybody try to argue...this time.

There was an announcement that confirmed a rumor that had been going around for a while. But yeah it looks like they're going to hold off on giving out peoples SNAP and WIC benefits. That's going to make next week...interesting. I don't personally receive any of those benefits myself (Insert joke about working for a living here.) But according to Google, more than 40 million people DO rely on those benefits to survive. So what's the plan there? Or at least the “Concept of a Plan” that Dear Leader has promised? Just starve the poor? Sure I do think that there is a lot of room for improvement behind the idea of Food Stamps. But just, “okay, sucks to be you” really isn't the direction that I would have gone in. Republicans blame Democrats for shutting down the Government because they won't vote for the budget. Democrats blame Republicans because Democrats want to negotiate some of the points in the budget. Apparently (if I understand correctly, so flip a coin on how accurate it is) in the new budget some of the healthcare fees will explode in price. So again, screw poor people. I try to stay politically neutral as it is unwise to have an opinion on stuff you don't know much about. But, Wow, Republicans really seem to hate poor people. But don't worry, they have enough money to tear down half of the White House and give I think the last I heard was $20 Billion, or was it $40 Billion or a combination of a total of $60 billion to Argentina?
