Dang that was a jump on the scale. I'm thinking about getting back into Keto. I'm not going to jump immediately back into it as I still have several boxes of Hamburger Helper (not sponsored) and some other Non-Keto meals that are going to be the cheaper options. I don't think that I'll start up the Keto Count until Roommate goes back to work, but I am going to try to buy and eat more meat biased meals. I'm just going to have to research some cheaper dinners. Of course I say that and then at lunch I buy some cheese curls
The weight is still 13.8 lbs (6.3 kg) down from last year and 8.27 lbs (3.75 kg) down from average, but still it is frustrating that all of that progress over the last couple of months was wiped out so quickly. The projection had changed from hitting all of my goals by the end of this year to not even by the end of next year just in the course of a couple of weeks.
Something that I am nervous about is a memo that I came across on the daily training at the store. (Not sure if I should be talking about an internal communication on an online blog but, oh well) Apparently tomorrow they're going to round coin change to the 5¢. The thing that I did have to laugh at was on the memo there was a picture of an example how the new system will work. And the total on the example was $6.66 and there was a cash payment of $7.00 and a line for “penny rounding” that added .01 to the change so the change paid out is $0.35.
I just had to laugh at that example of the total. They just had to use that amount didn't they. I pointed it out to a couple of coworkers and none of them understood the joke. When I explained it to the trans person She told me that she knew what the Mark of the Beast was because she's just so edgy.
Yeah, but you still had to have it explained to you.
But what is making me scared is flashbacks to the pandemic when there was a coin shortage. People are going to blame Former President Biden for that, but the coin shortage started in June 2020 when President Trump was in office. And this current Penny shortage is because (if I understand correctly) President Trump just told the US Mint to just stop making pennies. They really didn't have a plan on how to phase out the One Cent coin other than, “So shall it be said, so shall it be done!” I am just already seeing people have meltdown breakdowns because they were “CHEATED TWO WHOLE CENTS!” I really am hoping and praying that it will be that all change is rounded up to the 5¢ but I'm going to bet that it'll be rounded to the nearest 5¢ so if your total is $19.98 and you pay with a twenty dollar bill you'll get a receipt and a “Have a nice day” I'm still willing to bet that people will still have breakdowns because they were “cheated” even though their change was rounded up. “I WAS SUPPOSED TO GET THIRTY THREE CENTS AND YOU GAVE ME THIRTY FIVE CENTS ALFAWEOTAJWGOTAJ HOW DARE! HOW DARE! I WANT THIRTY THREE CENTS I WANT THIRTY THREE CENTS!!”
Of course this only effects change given out. If your total is $45.87 and you use your debit card or a check you will still pay the full total, and you could pay the $45.87, it's just that if you don't pay the exact change your change will be say, 4.15¢ instead of the 4.13¢
I finished off the last of the Taco Chili. The Low Carb Jambalaya is going to be the lunch for the rest of the week.
I did feel bad for a guy that came in to cash in his coins. The coin counter machine started making really a really angry grinding noise. He insisted that it had taken a lot of his coins but didn't count them. But the coin counter has a hopper inside of the machine and there weren't any coins in the hopper. The only direction the coins can go in is through the basket slot, into the hopper, and through the counter. So if the coins weren't in the basket, or the hopper, they've been through the counter. There's no way to know what coins in the box were his or in there from others who have used the machine.
