I was so close to the “Short Goal” yesterday and it's been so very long since I had weighed less than 300lbs (136 kg) but no today had to be up 2.8lbs (1.3 kg) I'm still down 5.6 lbs (2.5 kg) for the year and the two or three pounds is within daily fluctuations, but it would have been exciting to beat that goal. But then again if I did have a weight under 300 lbs (136 kg) I would wait for a bit to consider that goal “beaten” for a bit just because the weight fluctuates like that. The morning before work really snuck by me. I woke up at the usu...

Sober Month 10 (Day 307)

I was awake a bit longer than I should have been last night as I was watching a streamer that I enjoy watching on Monday nights. But I woke up a little earlier than I normally do. Not sure what's going on there, but I did wake up before the alarm went off on my phone. It might have been Roommates alarm in the room next door. But I was still able to wake up before he did. I was starting to get curious as to if he was going to have an appointment this morning. But he did eventually wake up in a grumpy hurried mood after awhile.

I did the usual grocery shopping while he was at his appointment. I usually write a check for the grocery shopping. But since I was going to do a transfer from “Bill Savings” to pay the bills and the groceries for the week I went ahead and stopped by the bank branch that's in the large store and made the transfer before I did the shopping so I could just use my debit card. I thought about paying some of the other bills today, but decided to just do the weekly grocery shopping and the fueling up the car. I'll pay the rest of the bills on Thursday when I get the paycheck. I'm so excited that the bills are going to get caught up this week. What's really exciting is that I'll have all of the bills paid AND have money in the savings accounts. I told Roommate that the only thing that would have made me happier this week is if he had came out of the appointment without any bandages on his leg. He implied that he'd be back on the road within the blink of an eye if that were true. (Kinda the excitement that I was implying.)

Something that was kind of exciting doing the shopping I was budgeting and hoping that the total would be nearer to $130, but after Employee Discounts and Digital Coupons (not sponsored) the total was actually $109.10 even though I did splurge a bit and grabbed a scented candle as I did have a coupon for that and I'm a big fan of Pumpkin Spice scented things. Since the grocery budget came out so well I did go ahead and grabbed a Powerball ticket. I know that the lottery is also known as the “idiot tax” but since I was so under budget I thought it might not hurt to buy a little bit of hope for a couple of dollars. And when I got gas for the car I was budgeting for $50, and the Fuel Points made it actually $30. Well, it was actually $29.92. They say that you're really not supposed to tease the pump once it cuts off. But I just can't help it when it's just so close to the dollar.

I dumped out the servings of Jambalaya that I had in the fridge. They didn't smell as bad as the serving that I had yesterday at lunch, but as they did have shrimp in them so I didn't want to take the chance. I cooked Gumbo for this week's lunch plan, but as it is a slow cooker recipe I baked some chicken for the lunch today. I baked it from frozen and even though I had baked it for 2 hours at 400 (204 C) it was still under cooked and bloody on the inside

I spent quite a while today on expanding the spending comparison spreadsheet. I had gotten the idea to show the comparison of spending during of each month between this year and last year. The grocery and fuel spending was under budget today, but the spending for the year is still over what I spent by this time last year. It is unlikely to ever have 2024 overtake 2025 again. But it would be nice to see what category and what months were over spent in.

Dinner this evening was some Bratwursts that I had a Digital Coupon for (not sponsored)
