I'm scheduled 10:30 to 7:30. But what is really strange is that they have me scheduled to work five and half hours and before lunch and then two and a half hours after lunch. It's nice to have a long first half, but coming back to work for basically the length of a feature film seems pointless. Transferring Money into the savings accounts this morning because today is payday. I have to say that was kind of exciting. I did debate wither to go ahead and leave myself the weekly allowance this morning or wait until after work to transfer and just spend what I like today and just save the rest. But I figured it would be wiser to go ahead and do the transfer in the morning so I don't over s...

Sober Month 9 (Day 283)
Keto Day 2

I was woken up in the middle of the night last night as my right eye and nostril were in a competition on which one could run harder. I took some allergy tablets, it is interesting how quickly those take effect (affect?) I do have to wonder how much of that is placebo. Does placebo work if you know it's placebo? Brains are weird. But it is a very strange feeling when the eyes dry up and sinuses drain out.

I was too busy this morning paying bills, balancing and rearranging my budget to cook the goulash that I was wanting to. It was a bit annoying to see that it was already 10:15 by the time I was done paying and moving things around and I had to work at 11. so All I had time to do was cook breakfast and get ready for work. It was immensely satisfying to pay so many of the bills at once. It was all but the internet bill which is just going to have to wait for a bit. But all of the essentials are taken care of, the car is fueled up. And I still have over $100 in the “Bills Savings” account. The great thing about that is if I can keep it over $100 for the entire month they don't charge the $3 fee as the savings accounts have a monthly minimum balance fee if it's ever under $100.

A lot of people again today were having a hard time with their debit/credit/SNAP cards. Many, many people just could not figure out how to run their cards through the reader. I don't know when this became just such a challenge for people. And with the problems people have with the Chip Reader and Tap to Pay I do wonder what people were like when the magnetic strip was first introduced. I have been coming across those “gotcha” photo comparisons showing pictures of things that “Kids these days” would not recognize. A lot of those have the old fashioned credit card readers where the card was placed in the reader and a slide was ran over the top. I just imagine the cashier telling the customer to run their card through the magnetic strip reader, and the customer just standing there drooling. But then again I really am under the impression that the old people in the past were not as dumb as the old people of today. I'm not sure what's going on. But there's no way that people have always been like this.

I don't know if I should be talking about other people's mental faculties as I kept almost smacking myself in the face. After lunch I was scheduled to work in Customer Service for a bit and the new lottery ticket dispenser is right underneath the cash drawer that I was using. So people would ask for a ticket, I would finish the sale, bend down to grab the ticket from the dispenser, and then quickly dive out of the way as the drawer came flying at my head because I had just finished a sale and the drawer is opening.

I did have a paranoid thought with the Government Shutdown that started the other day. Roommate has disability payments. Does he still get that payment if the government is shutdown? If not that's going to make Rent really, really suck. I don't have it budgeted of him giving me his half of the rent until next week, but what happens if they're still not wanting to do their jobs? I tried to look it up. And it looks like, for now, it's going to be harder for people to sign up, and the people that already are should be fine. But we'll see how it goes.

I did get to cooking the Goulash that I was wanting to cook for the lunch. But I didn't get a chance to take the inventory of the freezer to build a meal plan for the week. I try to get that done tomorrow before work. Or even after work if I sleep in again.
