Last day of the last week of vacation for the year :(
I swear that I did wake up this morning with the thought of getting things done. But then I just didn't. I really just sat here at the computer playing phone games. I kept telling myself that I could open up the list of videos that I could work on, but I never find the mental energy to do so.
I did kind of half pay attention to some game announcements. A lot of people are talking about some major announcements that are supposed to happen with the Halo video game franchise in the next couple of weeks. So that's something to look forward to. (Not that my computer would be able to run any new games)
The notice for my car's registration tags came in the mail today. It was $80 lower than I had saved in the financial program so that was nice. Looking at the history of it the bill for the last couple of years it seems to have gone down about twenty something dollars each year. I don't know if that's because the car is getting older or if that's a trend to budget for. But I'm not going to argue too much against it.
I did cruise around town a little bit before lunch to see if there were any of the “No Kings” protests and I was surprised to see a little gathering of heretics on north main street. Here in the middle of deep red Republican Kansas I thought it was blasphemous to say anything against his holiness supreme overlord grand emperor Trump.
I picked up a 3 pack of Mac and Cheese to replace the two boxes of Roommates mac and cheese that I used last night and used a box for lunch to make some Chili Mac.
It was nice to open the windows and enjoy the amazing autumn weather that we were having today. The smell outside was amazing. I should have spent more time outside.
It is kind of unfortunate how early the sun goes down in the autumn. The fact that it's going dark by 6 O'clock really is the only thing that I hate about this time of year.
I set up the ribs in the oven once I noticed that it was getting dark. I had them in the fridge for a while and I wanted to get it cooked before I went back to work as it takes so long for them to bake in the oven. Yeah the dog was really happy with the dinner decision this evening. When I tried to get one of the first bites off of the rib bone it was still hot so I jerked back, but it was fall off of the bone tender. Fall off of the bone and onto the floor tender. So the dog got a good mouthful of the pork ribs. I hope he doesn't plan on that happening very often.
Once again I'm having mixed feelings about going back to work tomorrow. Annoyed that I'm just going to go back to standing around all day, but at least I'm not going to have to listen to Roommate whining all day. All last week he was looking over the books for the BattleTech board game and he was talking about how we were going to play all this week. But then he downloaded the video game equivalent and just never said another word about playing. He just screeches about how he's tired of living in this "shit hole" and how he can't wait to go back to work. I honestly can't wait either.
