I had to laugh last night I was rushing to get the post posted I want to get it up before midnight. And I was excited as I had shared the link right at 11:59pm and then there was a little bit of a brownout. Power dipped just enough to turn off the computer. If it had happened 30 seconds earlier It would have missed the deadline for uploading the post. Sure it's an artificial deadline, but it was just funny that right after I beat it the computer got taken out.
Not sure what caused the power to blink. I assumed that there was a storm coming through. But when the computer came back up the closest storm was several counties away. On the town's Facebook gossip page somebody said that a power transformer downtown had blown. But Mom's house is nowhere near downtown, or even in town. The only thing that I can think is whatever caused that transformer to blow caused a ripple through the local power network? At least it was just a brownout and the power just flickered and it didn't go completely out. Can't help but wonder what a data center would do to the power grid. Power flickering doesn't happen all that often. Heck the first time it happened since I moved out here, but I doubt a data center would help much.
It took a couple of alarms on my phone but I was able to wake up early enough to see Mom, Sister, Niece, and Nephew off on their road trip to visit my sister in Ohio.
I did the weigh in while breakfast cooked. Not the usual order that happens in so I had to keep a mind out on the cooking so I wouldn't burn the bacon. While the breakfast cooked I set up chicken in the oven to cook for lunch. The chicken was still about frozen so it took awhile to bake. I didn't have salt in the coffee this morning as when I woke up the measuring spoons were in the sink with dirty dishes
A little annoyed at the scale this morning. Sure it was only 1.7lbs up from yesterday so still within the range of usual fluctuations. But today is the first day of the month so I'm starting the month off on an up.
After breakfast and while the chicken baked I did take the time to record the General Update video that I want to upload Monday. It took quite a while to record as I kept getting distracted and off topic. So I spent the better part of two hours straight just talking to the phone before going to work. I could feel my voice breaking as I finished the video and it kind of made me nervous for the day. As I spent two hours talking, and then eight hours yelling, repeating myself, and repeating myself. As nobody can understand me when I talk so I have to repeat myself quite often.
Today was quite busy at the store. I worked 12-8, but had a half hour lunch, so I worked 7.5 hours. It was kind of annoying to hurriedly eat the chicken I baked this morning as it came out of the microwave quite warm. Also the Celsius Energy that I picked up yesterday was the non-carbonated version. I can't say that I like that version. I think next week I'll go back to buying Monster energy (not sponsored) I just prefer the mouth feel of the carbonated energy drinks.
After lunch the store manager told me that she was glad I was back from vacation as she had somebody else clean the front door windows and they didn't do a very good job and when ever she assigns me to it she knows that I'll do a good job at it. A complement to be sure, but it really isn't my job to clean windows. Oh well, better than having to do quite a few other things that they could have me be doing.
Had hot dogs for dinner as I was too tired to try to cook anything. I worked on Sunday, but I was off the last two days so today was the first real day back from vacation and it really did feel like it.
Proud to be on Month 4 of the diet. Sure I could (and probably should) be better at it. But at least I'm mostly sticking to it.
