The batteries on this new scale didn't last very long. Thankfully they are AAA batteries which are pretty cheep, unfortunately I won't be able to afford new batteries for the scale until I do the grocery shopping tomorrow. Something I am concerned about is that there seems to be a strange corrosion all over the batteries that were in the scale. And it seems to have infected the springs in the battery container..hole..I'm not sure the name for the area where the batteries go, but I am kind of surprised to see actual coil springs in modern technology. I'm really hoping that I don't have to buy another scale so soon after buying this one. There will be a couple of days where I can't weigh in for my spreadsheets, but the math will be easy enough to fill in the gap.
I haven't posted for the last couple of days. It is kind of strange, I have all kinds of energy over the day, but as soon as I get home I almost hear the Windows Shutdown Noise as I walk in the door from work. I get home and I just kind of doze at the computer.
I've been messing around with the Financial recording program that I have on my computer. The bills on the “upcoming” tab that shows the next bills that are coming up in the next 30 days and they are all in Alphabetical order, but on the tab that shows the “Projected Balances” all of the bills seemed to be in a random order for each day that they're due. Then I realized that they were in the order that I had originally recorded that bill. The Pay check was the first thing that I've ever put into the program so that was on top, next was the electricity bill, that was next on the list, and the Transfer into the various savings accounts were the last thing that I had ever put into the program so that was the one on the bottom. I'm kind of going back and forth on whether to organize them by Alphabetic or Cost. It's purely aesthetic so it really doesn't matter. However it is kind of aesthetically pleasing to have the biggest bill on the top of the stack. But organizing them Alphabetically would mean that they'll be in the same order on both tabs. I finally got the idea of numbering each item.
I haven't been sleeping very well over the last couple of nights. Another reason that I'm annoyed that the scale is out of batteries as I'm pretty sure that I've dropped a couple of gallons of water weight over the last several nights. When by bladder lets me sleep I sleep pretty well, but I'm up every hour and a half running into the bathroom. Chat GPT says that's common for the first couple of weeks of Keto.
Work went a lot quicker than I was expecting. I was running the self checkout for the first four hours which could have gone really poorly, but that went really smoothly. I noticed that I was able to avoid buying the energy drink that I would normally buy. On a “normal” basis what I would have to do would drink an entire pot of coffee before work, a couple of hours into the day I'd have to buy an energy drink to keep going, have another one at lunch, and then have one in the second half of the day. But over the last couple of days I've only been fighting the urge to buy energy drinks because it was “time” to buy the drink I'm not even tired over the day.
I bought the Diet Arizona Lemonade Tea because I did take a break in the second half of the day.The second half of the day was kind of unique as they had actually scheduled me to be the "Person in Charge" and had somebody else scheduled to be supervisor while I was the Manager Pro Tempore. I had asked the store manager before he left if there was anything that I should be doing. And no there was several trucks that came in, but the grocery guy was there to receive them. The trash compactor is by the loading dock so the manager had said that the grocery guy would be there to open the trash for people. So basically I was just there to make sure that the store didn't burn down and wait to go home.
And Woohoo, one full week Keto. It would be nice to see how long that streak will last. I'm pretty sure that Roommate gets his disability payment sometime this week. So I'll wait and see if he helps with groceries, but for now the plan is to continue with the ketovore plan of: bacon and eggs for breakfast, a soup/casserole lunch, and then a meat for dinner.
oh, and on the topic of bacon and eggs for breakfast I'm going to get some home laid eggs from my Mom tomorrow after I do my grocery shopping. It will be fascinating to see the difference between the "homemade" eggs and the store bought eggs.
For now I'm going to go try to read a bit before bed, but the last time I tried doing that I just went right to sleep. lol
