Keto Day 4
Feet and head kind of hurt this morning. It kind of felt like a hangover. I'm guessing it's a bit of Keto Flu. I didn't break Keto for very long. But I don't know if it matters for when restarting Keto. Also I didn't drink much yesterday so it might have just been dehydration. I have a pitcher of tea in the fridge, but the missing check yesterday kind of had me distracted from drinking any of it.
I was pleasantly surprised that, yes they did turn off the water this morning to work on the neighborhood fire hydrant, but it was turned back on before I had to leave for work at 11am
The first half of the day went by rather smoothly. The average wait time was actually 15 seconds for most of the time. The store services people were earning their keep today. Apparently the "Stone Age" technologies that are being used in the refrigeration system had broke down. So most of the freezers and coolers around the store were broken down. And when they got the refrigeration system going there an electrical issue that lit it on fire. And the fire shut down the Air Conditioning system.
I made an old guy angry. His wife put in her debit card, typed in her PIN number, and then just walked away. The problem was that she had typed in her number incorrectly. So the pin pad was asking for the PIN number again. The guy was just standing there. I was scheduled to be the Carryout and the Cashier was a new hire. We both told him that the PIN Number was put in wrong so he had to type it in again. He reached out and pushed the “Enter” button. Well, that didn't work because he had to actually type in the PIN Number for the card. And when I told him that he couldn't just push enter he actually had to type in his PIN Number he snapped at me shouting that he was trying to type it in and I could do it if I wanted to! I told him that if he wanted to bark at me I'll just cancel his order. He typed in his PIN Number incorrectly two more times. It went through the fourth time, which is fortunate for him because it would have locked on that try if he was wrong one more time. I'll be honest, I was a little disappointed that he didn't lock his card.
When I went home for lunch the house smelt like rancid death. Later in the evening Roommate said that he had bought some Mexican Food and it caused him a lot of intestinal issues that really stank up the house. Another reason that I'm looking forward to next week's cold front where it'll be cool enough to open up the windows. Grandpa used to refer to “Spring Cleaning” as “Letting out the winter farts” but summer has some serious farts to let out as well.
The second half of the day was a serious, “hit the ground running” coming back from lunch. The schedule had me going to lunch from 2p to 3p, but I'm guessing that because we are down two people from fired/quitting they had to move some things around so I actually went to lunch from 4p to 5p and when I got back from lunch it was in the middle of the After School Rush. And there was only one cashier scheduled, one person in Customer Service, and of the two carryouts neither knew how to check. One was the elderly lady who refuses to do anything unless you tell her to do it, and the other was the intellectually disabled girl that is incapable of doing anything unless you tell her to do it. And the Store Manager announced that I was going to be the Person In Charge this evening. Thankfully the refrigeration and air conditioning systems seemed to be fixed up. As the last hour calmed way down. I was glad to leave work because 1. Glad to leave work, but 2. The closing Carryout and the closing Self Checkout were both people that are also people that would suffocate if you're not constantly telling to breathe level of incompetent. And the guy who was the jabber-box that I was certain was a shadow agent for Walmart is back as the Security Guard. I was so done because I could just see that I'd have to be constantly micromanaging for the rest of the night.
