Nice down on the scale today. Armpits haven't been stinging like they were a couple of days ago. But the front of my nose is strangely red. It doesn't feel burnt or sting or anything. It's just I'm going around like Rudolf
Kept pretty busy today. I opened and moved the boxes of flooring titles for the guy installing the floor.
Finally did get around to grabbing a drink from the garage during lunch. Again being careful to make sure I call it the right thing as “Member's Mark” is the name of the brand of the sparkling water. And “Maker's Mark” is a brand of whiskey. It does make for an interesting idea of “Sparkling Whiskey” That make for an interesting burn down the throat. Probably make for weird burps though. I'm calling it "Sparkling Water" I'm sure that it's mostly the same as Seltzer, but it is in bottles and what I'm calling Seltzer is in cans.
Had lunch a bit earlier than I normally would have as I had my lunch when the floor guy took his lunch break and ran into town for some parts. I warmed up some hot dogs on the stove. Kind of wish that Mom had a microwave I do, however, respect why she doesn't keep one. It just kind of suck to dirty a pot just to warm up some hot dogs. I did have the chicken in the fridge that I could have had for lunch, but that takes a while to cook and it seemed impolite to make somebody smell chicken cooking for a while just to eat it in front of them. So I decided to have that for dinner.
The floor is mostly done and it does look quite nice. It switches out foe hardwood floor for slate laminate. Mom is suggesting that she paint the TV cabinet and some shelving white. Black flooring and white shelving does seem like a nice combination. My count is that there is about only 25 floor panels needed to be installed and there are about 5 boxes of 9 panels left so plenty left. The floor guy will have to install the baseboards after the few floor panels, but it really does look like the project will be done tomorrow.
I cooked dinner and offered Mom a piece of chicken. After the chicken was done cooking I was glad that the pie plate wasn't crusted over like it was when I baked chicken yesterday. Not sure what caused the burnt crust to form around the pie plate yesterday. Maybe I wasn't able to get the foil wrapped around it right yesterday. All of the grease did stay in the foil this evening. I just about got in trouble as I caught myself as I was about to dump it down the drain. Step-Dad and Mom have both been very insistent that grease NEVER goes down the drain as it messes with the septic system. I had thought about adding it to the dog dish as I'm sure that they would love the inclusion. However Mom said that would give “the shits” I doubt she would like for her new floors to be “broken in” so soon. So she encouraged me to just take it out to the dumpster.
I get paid on Thursdays and on Wednesday evenings they update the pay stubs so I spend a bit balancing budgets. It was helpful that I didn't spend any money today. What was strange that on the Pay Stub site that broke down the various pay lines for the week it included a 2 cent payment labeled “Excess Life” Kind of funny that I'm getting paid for having “excess life”, but only two cents worth. I asked Chat GPT what that's about and it has something to do with life insurance. I usually go cross-eyed when insurance gets brought up and it is already late.
Computer is being really slow this evening. I really hope there isn't something wrong with it. That would be kind of crushing if I had finally started saving money, just to end up dumping it on a new computer.
