Hooray Happy Solstice Day. True it is technically the first day of Winter, but today is the day that the sun starts coming back and it starts to have more light during the day.
A couple of days ago Grandma had messaged me telling me that some of her lights had started to come off of her house so I went over this morning to put her lights back up. Well, it was technically morning, but I had a bit of a hard time getting the momentum going this morning. And it was noon by the time I got the single line of lights back up.
While I was in the neighborhood I went over to say hi to Mom. While I was there she gave me a couple of vials of homemade lotion for my hands. We also talked about the delay of Christmas. The original plan was to have our gathering this coming up Saturday, but my younger sister has COVID and my sister-in-law's sister is having a baby soon so it would be better to avoid any family gatherings so we don't spread the illness around. I had forgotten the vials of lotion in the car this afternoon so I didn't get a chance to put the lotion on until I got home from work.
Because I'm an old hire my holiday pay would count as overtime so I am scheduled for several partial days this week. And I was only scheduled to work 4 to 8pm today. But the unfortunate thing is I really didn't do anything but count down how much longer I had until I had to go to work. Kind of why I hate working later in the afternoon. I just end up spending the entire day doing the math of how long I have left to do anything, but I never do anything because I'm doing the math of how much time I have left.
Grandma had sent me a message this afternoon saying that because of my sister having COVID and my cousin is in the hospital with a leg injury so she's going to postpone our Christmas gathering to New Years Day. I pray for the afflicted, and I'm not going to stamp my feet and whine because we're not having Christmas on time. But it does add to the strangeness of this year.
I had the other pork loin that I baked the other day as Roommate didn't seem to want it.
Work was strange today as I just got into the store at the end of the evening rush. And I was just kind of wondering around brain dead.
Mom had gone over the ingredients that she had put into the lotions that she gave me. One of them is labeled as “Healing” the other is labeled “Moisturizing” and I got the idea of trying to put one lotion on one hand and the other lotion on the other and to see if there is any difference between the two and/or if there will be any other effects between the two, but putting the lotions on this evening I was a bit sloppy and couldn't help but get both lotions over the entirety of both hands. Well, the only difference between the two lotions seems to be that the “Moisturizing” lotion has Yarrow and Dandelion to go with the plantain, avocado oil, and Beeswax that is in the “healing” lotion. Then again the second one says Vitamin E also. The dry rough skin on my hands have seemed to immediately gone soft so that's impressive that the lotions work immediately on contact.
I was feeling nostalgic as I was thinking that it had been a really long time since I had the Velveeta Dinner (not sponsored) So I grabbed a box of that dinner, some tomatoes, and a pack of Taco Seasoning. I was to grab some corn to go in with it, but I forgot it. I also picked up a can of Sugar Free Red Bull as I'm scheduled to work 7 to 2 tomorrow. I'm keeping that can next to my bed so when the alarms start going off I'll slam the energy drink. It is strange that I'm going to be Supervisor at 7 in the morning. But that's what they scheduled me to do. So I better get to bed.
