Keto Day 4
Didn't get to post last night as Roommate had put on The Fellowship of the Ring later in the evening and I decided to watch it with him. It's been a while since I've watched the Lord of the Rings movies.
Yesterday wasn't a very productive day. I really just kind of sat here at the computer kind of dozing. I was going to clean out the fridge, but I never got around to it as I was just tired all day. When I woke up this morning there was a bad stench in the fridge. The freezer had clogged up the vents again. I was going to thaw it out yesterday, but I decided to go ahead and to do it today. This time I made sure that the ice was completely gone before turning the fridge back on. As the last couple of times I defrosted the freezer I only thawed it out until the ice was no longer covering the vents into the fridge. I'm pretty sure that I wasn't doing myself any favors by letting ice build up and refreeze over and over, but I wouldn't take the time to let it fully thaw out.
I was going to cook Chicken Enchilada soup for the lunch plan I never got to around to it yesterday. And the ingredients seemed to have gone bad in the fridge as with the vents frozen over. I deiced to pick up a pack of Jumbo Jumbo Hot Dogs for lunch for the rest of the week. If I had found the time and energy to make the soup now it would throw off the timing for the week. The pack of hot dogs will last the three days until Tuesday when I am going to do the grocery shopping for the next week.
Today's schedule was kind of shortened because of holiday hours. I worked 12-7. The first four hours I was the supervisor. Or I was supposed to be the supervisor the whole time, but the person who was supposed to give the self checkout cashier had called in sick so I had to cover Self Checkout for an hour. That was a really long hour. People coming through just didn't seem to be able to pay attention to the world around them. More than one person would stand, staring at the register with a gift card in hand, not knowing what to do. Well, you slide the card through the reader, “No, it's a gift card, what do I do?” I was to explain to one person how to run a card through the reader, while another person kept triggering scale errors because she kept moving groceries around on the bagging scale. She kept insisting that the lady she was with was from over seas. It doesn't matter, you still have to leave the register alone while somebody is ringing up the groceries. Lady turned to the other and asked, “Do you have grocery stores in Lebanon?” I was kind of shocked by the question, I don't know much about other countries, but Grocery Stores aren't exactly an American institution. It was satisfying to change the lights from Red and Green back to the regular white lights. I'm not really opposed to Christmas decorations, but the month and a half of, “This register is open, no it's not closed, the red light is just for decoration, yes it really is open.” over and over for the entire season is exhausting. People will argue with you about a register being open after you tell them that it is open.
Even though it was kind of a short day it took a while after work to recover. I baked some bratwursts after doing dishes.
