Keto Day 2

I got to sleep pretty quickly last night, but the watch gave me a pretty low “sleep score” for last night because I woke up early and there seemed to be some updates during the night so it interrupted the tracking. I didn't wake up, but it didn't track my sleeping so it gave me a bad score because it didn't track any sleep several times over the night.

I was able to wake up pretty good this morning before work. I was kind of worried as I was scheduled to come in at 7am which is quite a bit earlier than I usually work. I did buy a Sugar Free red bull the other day when I got groceries. I drank that this morning as I woke up, but I don't think that it was really necessary. I didn't have time to have proper breakfast though.

I did take time before work to move money around I usually get paid on Thursday, but since tomorrow is Christmas they paid me early. And I have a strategy of money saving where I keep $50 in the checking account for an allowance and the rest I'm transferring into Bill Savings until I have enough to pay the bills for the next month, if it ever it gets to that amount I'll transfer into Project Savings, than into General Savings if I ever get to the target on the Project Savings. Not feeling super confident that I'll ever get to that goal, but at least I'm making a bit of progress on that lately. Kind of felt like old Ebenezer spending the free time on Christmas Eve moving money around.

The fog was still really thick when I left for work this morning. And it stuck around for a while during the morning. There was a strange light ammonia like smell to it.

It was really slow when I first got to work. IT was strange to have the supervisor, two cashiers, and two carryouts that early in the day. And for the first hour or so we were really just standing around. One of the cashiers asked me when I thought it would start getting busy. I told her about 8 or 9 or when the fog starts to clear. And the fog started to clear around 9 and Whoa Nelly I was right about the guess. And it was just swarmed for the rest of the day.

It was really unnerving as the cashier who was supposed to be on Register 7, basically the first register after the Self Checkout Lanes, reported that the card reader wasn't taking anybodies chip cards. So basically nobody with a chip on their debit/credit card will have to run their card three times before they can slide the magnetic strip on their card, every single time. And just about every single person has a debit/credit card has a chip card. So that would mean that every single person will have to run their card three times each time they check out. While being reassured that they just need to run their card again, no you didn't pay yet, just go ahead and run your card again, no it's not double charging you, you just need to redo your card, no there isn't anything wrong with your card, just run your card again, no you have to run your card three times before you can slide the magnetic strip. And then have that same conversation with each customer that came through. So that cashier just went to another register. People still tried to line up at the broken register because they didn't think that they wanted to wait their turn at the registers that were actually open.

I was scheduled to work 7am to 11am before I went to lunch. Strangely they didn't have a Supervisor scheduled while I was at lunch. I had the last serving of the AI Chili for lunch today with some Members Mark Hot Dogs that Stepdad gave me last night as I was leaving Mom's house. I had to check several times that I got the name right on those because that brand is "Makers Mark" and there is a brand of bourbon called Makers Mark, it would be awkward to say that I said I had bourbon hot dogs for lunch.

The second half was busy, but smooth. But as the day went on it seemed like people were getting more and more desperate. It was like they knew the end was coming and HAD to run to the store to snatch up all that they could. I was so glad that I was able to leave before closing as if I were scheduled to close I would have had to not only wait for the stragglers to eventually finish shopping when they get around to it, but then do all of the closing things to shut down the store and prepare it for being closed all day tomorrow.

By the time I got out of the store I was in kind of a flight or fight mode. When I clocked out I kind of cruise around downtown before coming home. I had forgotten that I wanted to pick up a Powerball lottery ticket. I highly doubt that I would have won, but a 1.7 Billion jackpot would have made for one hell of a Christmas gift. But I was just too wiped to go back to grab one.

When I got home I just kind of shut down for a couple hours. I really just sat here at the computer.

As Grandma's Christmas was postponed I was going to cook some Basic Chili to kind of have the meal that she tends to have on her Christmas gatherings. But when I made the meal plan the other day I had forgotten to get a serving of the ground beef out of the freezer. You can cook ground beef from frozen, but the sausage wasn't frozen and I don't know how well trying to cook thawed ground sausage and frozen ground beef together would work. I pick up some Ham Steaks when I did the shopping and that's not too far off from a traditional Christmas Dinner. I moved pack of ground beef out of the fridge and into the fridge so I'll make the pot of chili tomorrow.

I saw a headline saying that Meta (the owners of Facebook) is going to have a subscription model that will limit how many links people can share. So if I ever stop sharing blog posts and videos on my Facebook just know that was their idea and there's no way in hell that I'm going to pay for Facebook, Twitter "X" or any other Social Media.  I pay for YouTube Premium (not sponsored) but that's the only online thing that I pay for

I can't help but think that there was something else that I was wanting to say. I must have been important as I can't seem to think of it. And I am dead tired so I'm going to bed.
