Sober Month 11 (Day 343)

Woke up this morning still having heavy allergy symptoms. I don't quite feel sick, it's just that whenever I bend down to pick anything up it feels like somebody smacked me with a 2x4 in the front of my face.

When I woke up this morning and saw the weather I realized that there would be no better day to help Grandma setting up her Christmas decorations.

I grabbed some Cold and Flu medicine on the way to Grandma's. Before I left the house I looked up the medicine on the store's website to see prices. I had to chuckle because there's only one review on that double pack of medicine. It's about half of the price as the name brand with the same active ingredients. What was funny about the review was that the medicine worked, but it tasted bad so they gave it a one of five star review. It's medicine, it's not supposed to taste good. If it works, that means it works.

Grandma's decorations are just a small Nativity Scene and a string of lights going across the top of her house and Grandpa's old workshop. (What was strange is every time I tried to google search “Nativity” to make sure I was writing it correctly Firefox kept freezing) I've been setting up her decorations each year for a while now. And it always makes Grandma, and Mom living across the street from her, nervous as heck with me sitting on top of Grandma's house leaning over the edge clipping the light clips to the roofing shingles. I appreciate their concern, but I've been doing this for a while without any issues. I probably shouldn't say that too confidently there were still a couple of bulbs that were burnt out and I had to come back into town to buy more bulbs, by the time I would have gotten back out to her house it would have been dark. Yeah, the lights would have lit up the roof, but there's no way in hell Grandma's going to let me go on top of her roof after sunset.

She paid me for setting up her decorations, I would do it for free of course, but I'm not in the position to turn down the money. What is fun is that the gift that she gave me guaranteed that I will be able to pay all of the bills for January before December ends this will mark the third month in a row where I will have all of the bills paid before the next month starts. And since I was in a celebratory mood I picked up a case of Nonalcoholic Beer on the way home.

And when I got home my Glutes were burning like crazy. Doing standup-sitdowns for about six hours is a heck of a workout.

As I was at Grandma's house all day I didn't have lunch. And I baked some Pork Loins when I got home.

I would really like to know why my computer keeps freezing every time I try to copy/paste anything.
