I've been telling myself every day for the last week or so, “I'll totally do it tomorrow.” Ask Orphan Annie about tomorrow. If I gave a reason for not posting it would be a lie. I really was going to make this post last night, but I finally got around to going back to playing Fallout New Vegas and lost track of the time. I'll see if I have an excuse today. I found out that my old roommate is still alive. Or at least he was alive as of a week or two ago. I haven't heard anything from or of him since I moved out back in April. I keep trying to tell myself that he isn't my fault. But if he h...

Sober Year 1 (Day 370)
Keto Day 0

Surprisingly I was able to wake up in time to go to work this morning. This week they're scheduling Supervisors at 7am. The guess is because of the holiday. But even the Customer Service Manager doesn't know why, she just has to schedule what they say that she does. That's why I don't blame her for the scheduling me only 39 hours for most of the year. She can only schedule what they allow her to.

I have to laugh I'm writing this later in the evening while playing the word match game that I've been kind of obsessing over lately. And it just played an advertisement for “Glycol Storage Tanks” You know, to deice your airplane! Yeah, they missed their target audience on that one.

But yeah I was supervisor at seven freaking o'clock in the freaking morning. I was standing around doing absolutely NOTHING. Perhaps I shouldn't complain about easy work, but I hate standing around not doing anything. And there really wasn't anything to do. Customer Service Manager kept griping at one of the carryouts and the self checkout cashier because they were standing around chatting. But they were chatting while filling the gift card display. Yeah, they were chatting, but they were chatting while working so it wasn't worth snapping at them.

Then one of the store managers ran by and kind of drafted me to help with the online pickup department. As I was LITERALLY waiting for something to do I was eager to help. Apparently the guy who was supposed to be in the online pickup had called in sick and by 8:30 there were already 30 something orders to go out by 1 O'clock. I was thinking that the guy that called in really needs to be careful, he was already fired once for attendance and he was able to talk them into rehiring him. Now he's calling in a lot again.

It really was quite fun doing the online pickup orders. There was a lot of problem solving and moving around and stuff. And bonus, I didn't have to argue with stupid people. I had a 4:2 split on the day so I worked four hours before lunch.

I fell to the temptation of the corn chips to go with the chili for lunch.

I was scheduled to work self checkout for 2 hours, but they had somebody else cover self checkout so I could continue to help with the online orders, which I'm okay with as I'll do quite a lot of things before running self checkout.

I did grocery shopping after work as Thursday this week is Christmas Day so I'll get paid on Wednesday this week and the check I wrote today will pass on Wednesday.

I took a while after work to recover. But there was enough time to bake some ribs for dinner.
