Sober Month 11 (Day 337)

Wow, that wind is going crazy out there. I woke up this morning to a notification of a “Wind Advisory” on my phone we've been having wind gusts going up to 45 mph (72 kph) Back on Thanksgiving I told my Grandma that I was planning on putting up her Christmas decorations this coming Friday. She insisted that she did NOT want me up on her roof if the weather is bad. I thought about teasingly call her this morning and ask if I should go ahead and put them up today. With the 45 mph wind gusts. I know that she would have said no, but it would have been fun to mess with her.

But I could just not wake up today. I had the regular bacon and eggs for breakfast. With breakfast I put a pack of Hot Chocolate and a splash of milk into the coffee. I thought that the hot chocolate and coffee would have been a good mix but it was more just kind of bland.

And even after drinking an entire pot of coffee I just couldn't keep my eyes open sitting here at the computer. I did have to remind myself a couple of times that it wasn't Tuesday and I didn't need to do the meal plan and take inventory today. It's just that because Thanksgiving was this week and since I'm an old hire, my holiday pay hours count towards overtime and they really don't like overtime right now. So they had to give me a third day off. The fun thing is that I'll have next Saturday off as well as I'm going to Mom's house for another Thanksgiving gathering and I'm using the last of my Vacation Time on that day so I'll have three days off next week also, and two of the days together.

In the mid morning I was getting strangely really hungry, but it was too early to have lunch yet. So I went ahead and had the leftovers from Grandma's Thanksgiving party. And then at the regular lunchtime I had the serving of Pizza Pasta with a bit of ranch dressing.

Even all day this afternoon I couldn't do anything but sit here dozing at my computer. I'm going to blame the weather. It was dark and gusty outside. Hearing the leaves blowing around kind of makes it sound like it's raining out side.

Since they take so long to bake and I was off I decided to throw a rack of ribs into the oven. They take a while to cook, but they're easy to cook.

I've seen some people posting online about how some stores are doing "dynamic pricing" and they're taking sale prices off of the shelves and when you checkout they calculate the price based on your personal details(?) or at least that's the internet rumor (so it has to be true right?). I just have to say that is an EXTREMELY bad idea.  It would just take an Hispanic person, an African American, and a White person show that they are getting different prices and that company has all kinds of lawsuits and public recompenses (I don't think that's the word I'm looking for, but that company won't want the fallout) coming their way. I don't feel sorry for the company or the CEO's who came up with the horrifically stupid idea, but their cashiers won't deserve the vitriol headed their way.

Another early post, but I really just sat here dozing at the computer all day. I really need to find a way to get some energy to start doing things in my life. I'm not sure if it's the sun going down early or what, but I will be glad in three weeks when the Solstice comes and the days start getting longer again.
