Sober Month 10 (Day 318)
Woke up at around 7:30 so I guess I am starting to get used to the time change. Some people get really up in arms about the Daylight Savings Time changing back and forth, I am flexible enough to not be too bothered about it. It is a strange concept though.
I got the email this morning that the pants that I ordered the other day had finally shipped. Err “finally” I had just ordered the pants on Thursday and they're due to come in tomorrow. What was kind of confusing is that the email says that they're being shipped by the USPS and they're still scheduled to be delivered on Sunday. I didn't think that the United States Postal Service delivered anything on Sundays, but looking it up, yes they do deliver on Sunday but it is limited to “Express Limited” and Amazon packages. So yeah, it makes sense that the mega hyper corporation gets special treatment. But hey at least I'll get my pants on time.
It was kind of strange at about 8:45 I felt my ears popping. I've heard that there was supposed to be a cold front coming through today (probably another reason that it was so busy yesterday) so maybe that was when the front came through. It's still supposed to get up to 64 degrees (18 C) which is still really nice for November. The next couple days are going to be a bit cooler but then back up to the mid-sixties (not sure what that is in Celsius ). So still really nice for November.
When Roommate wakes up he's going to be CRANKY. More than usual I mean. As I was cooking breakfast I noticed that he had left a package of bologna on top of the microwave. I just know that when he wakes up and notices that he left that out all night he's going to be screeching about how much he hates living in “this f---ing s---hole” even though HE was the one that left the lunch meat out all night.
They need to come up with a new name for Artificial “intelligence” because that thing is dumb as hell. I am trying to have it make a line on the graph for a $50 a week allowance. But it just can't understand what I'm trying to do. I'm trying to have a $50 weekly allowance so each week I'm having the checking account reset to $50 for the day to day spending. But It can't figure out what I'm trying to say.
I saw some headlines saying that President Trump is still trying to have the Supreme Court to block SNAP releases. So I'm wondering how that would work if they determine that the release of the Food Stamps was inappropriate. What would happen with people who had received their benefits already? Will their card be turned off? Will the government take the money back from their cards? What would happen if people had spent the money that was on their cards, will their cards be in the negative for the amount they spent? Will they just have the amount for November subtracted from December's benefits if the government opens by December?
I really wish people would ask why it was so busy. It was just swarmed all day long. It was the weekend of the first week of the month, the day after Food Stamps were released, and there is a big weather change in the next couple of days. Everything was just lining up as perfect for a swarm. People were just crazy all day long today.
What was crazy was a carryout came in and said that a guy pulled out of a parking spot and almost backed into him as he was pushing carts. The carryout said that he was waiting for the guy to pull out, but the guy shouted that he would blow out the brains of the carryout. The carryout kept asking me what he should have done. I kept telling him that he should have called the police. I don't know what caused people to go so damned crazy over the last couple of days. But it is starting to get tiring. And the carryout kept asking me what he should have done. I asked him if he had his phone with him, he did, I told him that he should call the police if anybody threatens to shoot anybody else. He asked me if that was the store policy, I told him that was basic logic.
I was scheduled to close the desk this evening. Usually I don't get out until 15 after whenever I work until 9, but this evening I was able to get out right on time.
On the way home I was kind of worried if I had anything planned for dinner as I had lost count. I knew that I still had a corned beef roast and the stuff to make chili, but those take a lot longer to cook than I wanted to take this late at nigh. Thankfully I had a couple packs of bratwursts in the fridge.
