Keto Day 5 (28/365 Days 2026 Keto)
Wasn't able to post in the last couple of days as I worked until close and by the time I recovered after work I didn't have time to write out a blog post. And I've slept in a day or two so I didn't have time before work to do much either. So it kind of felt like I was waking up and going to work, then going back to bed.
I have been having a hard time cooking over the last couple of days. On Thursday I was happy that I had paid all of the bills that morning so I baked a Fathead Pizza. But the crust had completely carbonized to the baking sheet. Not sure what happened there. I've cooked Fathead Pizza before and had burnt it more than once, but never that badly before. And last night I had tried to make a Cheese Stuffed Meatloaf. But after baking it for quite some time it was still pink on the inside and then after baking it for even longer it completely disintegrated when I tried to pull it out of the loaf dish.
I do have to say that I ran Self Checkout for 8 hours the day before last and it went a whole lot better than I was expecting. Feet didn't hurt that much and I was able to work with the customers that came through.
Feet have been feeling considerably better over the last couple of days. I have been getting sharp twinges later in the evening. But that's hardly surprising as I'm running around for 8 to 9 hours.
I received my W2 in the mail. But I got an email saying if I want to get another form called a 1095-C to the the “Premium Tax Credit” I will have to go to the companies website and go to my Profile and view the “Notice of Availability” and click “Tax Documents” but none of these things seem to be on that website. They used to just mail the documents out, but I don't know maybe they're trying to save on postage? Maybe they don't want people to get their tax credits? Why does everything have to be so complicated?
I worked 11am to 8pm and had a 5:3 split and was supervisor the entire day. I felt like I was just kind of stumbling around all day. I was actually stuck on a register for most of the day. I'm not sure if it's because it's the first of the month, or because it's the first weekend of the month, or if there's another weather event expected. But today was just swarmed busy all day long. It really did feel like people were panic buying again today.
I'll admit that I grabbed the small tube of cashews from the register more because of “mouth hungry” than because I was actually hungry.
Had a guy get upset because of the lack of pennies. He started to shout at me because “IT JUST WASN'T RIGHT!” That he got forty cents instead of thirty eight cents. Because those were HIS PENNIES! He deserved them! It took a bit of convincing to tell him that he got more than he was supposed to because the penny rounding rounded up to the nickle He finally left, I'm sure he's still upset that he got two more cents than he was supposed to get. I don't remember exactly how long we've been doing the penny rounding, but it has been several months. I get the feeling that it's going to be years before people get used to it.
I noticed that there was also a Tube of shelled roasted Pistachios and I don't believe that I've ever had pistachios before so I thought I'd try some. I do have to say that I preferred the cashews, but I need to quit the snacking. I'm pretty sure that Nuts are okay for Keto and they're only a dollar or so (not sponsored) but that's just eating money.
Left foot was really starting to sting by the end of the evening I'm glad that I'm going to be off of my feet for the next two days. I'm pretty sure that this will be the first "weekend" in a while that I didn't have a lot of running around expected. But I do need to come up with an idea for the lunch plan when I go do the grocery shopping on Tuesday.
The grilled steak came out a lot better than the dinners of the previous nights.
