Keto Day 2
Spent all day yesterday playing Minecraft. Spent a lot of time of it just respawning. Getting started in that game is pretty brutal. Thankfully one of the Mods Roommate installed was “Tombstones” where when your character is killed it leaves a tombstone where all of your in game items are stored and when you respawn you're given a note showing the coordinates of where all of your items are. The frustration there was another Mod that Roommate installed was for a specific enemy mob that would be swarms of this wizard that you're supposedly supposed to find the “real” one, but there will be swarms of clones running around attacking you. So I would go looking to find my last tombstone, and run into another swarm of wizards and end up dropping another tombstone. I finally just gave up looking for old tombstones and just started filling out the map by wondering around the play area. Whenever I came across the wizard swarms I just ran away. It was almost 2 in the morning when I finally filled out the map.
I'm not sure if it was because I spent the entire day at the computer or what but I could just not fall asleep last night. I spent all night doing an impression of a Rotisserie Chicken. But strangely I woke up really early, for me. I had popped right up right at 7:15, but I was really tired all day.
These flies are driving me insane. The seem to like flying right at my face and then zooming away right before they hit my face. They also seem to like swarming all around my desk. And I forgot to pick up a flyswatter. I'll have to add flies to the list of reasons that I hate summer.
Perhaps it was because I was tired but it did take me a while to do the shopping, cooking, and inventory of the food today. Annoyingly I did go a little over the budget, but not quite as much as previous weeks. The cashier asked me if all of the food that I was buying for only one week. My brain was on low power mode so I assured her that it was. But the Pork Butt that was cut into steaks, the Chicken Drumsticks and Thighs, and Bratwursts will be enough to last a couple of weeks. Cooked up a batch of Zuppa Toscana for this week lunches. There was also a serving of Pizza Soup and a serving of Cabbage Soup in the freezer which was kind of handy because the soup I cooked today made 5 servings. So the last two servings from the freezer filled out the rest of the week.
Baked some steak for dinner. I baked it for a bit too long. I wasn't very confident that the amount of time that I was supposed to cook it for was long enough. Again it wasn't burnt, just a bit more done than I would have preferred.
I was going to try to post this early to try to get back to reading the “Brief History of Time” But I was too tired to write this very quickly. I'm only a couple of chapters into the book, and I can't say that I'm understanding everything that I've read so far. But I do have to say that the book has a nice smell. I don't know if a lot of people have ever commented on the smell of the book that they're reading. But the book smells like a bookstore that we used to have in my town that had shutdown quite some time ago. I never had money to buy anything from that bookstore, but it was nice to hang out at.
