Okay restarting the Keto Kount. This is not a failure, it's more of figuring out the stall in the weight loss. I never uninstalled the calorie counting app on my phone from years ago. The calorie counter not only tracks the calories of the food it also gives you a breakdown of the nutritional facts of the food as well. And I was surprised to see the amount of carbs I was eating over the last few days. It isn't why I haven't been posting lately, that's been a different issue. But the other day when I put the tube of cashews into the tracking app it looked like that single serving of Cashews was almost half of the allotted for a single day. And the Johnsonville Jalapeno Cheddar Smoked Sausages were more than double the allowance for a single day. There have been days when I would have those for lunch and when I got home by feet and legs were more painful than usual. Step-Dad had said that it could be the sugar and other things that they put into the sausages. I'm not calling him a liar, it's just that Dr Berry says that eating processed meats are acceptable foods for the Keto/Carnivore diet. So all of the foods that I was eating that I thought would be good for the diet wasn't really. So who knows how many days I was actually good on the diet when I wasn't doing that great.
Strangely I woke up at the normal time, even considering the time change that happened back on Sunday. It's kind of strange that during Daylight Savings Time I would wake up around 8 am. And now that it's ended, I'm still waking up at around 8am. I went ahead and had the usual breakfast, except that I was out of the Iodized Salt so I just had the coffee plain.
Took the opportunity to do laundry today. I was startled to find a pen in the load with the jeans and dark shirts. I guess I should be glad that it wasn't in the whites. I looked at the dark clothes, but thankfully I didn't see any ink marks on them from washing them with a pen.
I was relieved when Mom went to collect her dog from the Vet. Poor thing had to spend the night at the Doggy Hospital. A couple of days ago Mom had some clover seeds in a tray on her TV stand and the dog thought that they looked quite tasty and ended up munching quite a bit of them. Yesterday as we were waking up the poor dogie was throwing up everywhere. When I got home from work I was quite unnerved when she wasn't there. But yeah, she spent the night at the clinic. They said that she was fine to go home, but she really laid around all day today. So she might not be completely healed yet, but she might just be out of the woods. I think we're going to be using the euphemism, “planting clover” for a bit.
Today was the Election Day that everybody was looking forward to. If not just to get rid of the damned political ads. Now the question is how well the losing parties accept the results. (remember, if your team didn't win that means that the other side cheated.<that was a joke>) I consider myself an unaffiliated independent so we'll see how it goes.
Grandma had suggested that since the voting place for our area is, more or less, in the direction of the next town over where there is a restaurant that she is a big fan of so she suggested that we have lunch after voting. As I was resetting the diet I went ahead and had Chicken Fried Steak, Mashed Potatoes, Macaroni and cheese, with regular Dr Pepper to go with. Mom was kind of confused by my lunch choice as I hadn't had a chance to tell her about my decision to reset my diet plan.
Mom fried some pork steaks for us for dinner. She was a little hesitant to do it like she usually does in the flour as she wasn't sure what I was doing with my diet. I explained to her what I was doing and it'll be fine for this evening to have fried pork steak for dinner.
Really having a hard time sitting down and focusing on getting the post done. And that's the real reason that I haven't been making any lately. I can use the excuse that I haven't been good on the diet, but to be honest I just can't get the thoughts together to make the post. Going to title this one "Sobriety Blog" as I wasn't very good on Keto. But as long as I don't make a post as "Daily Blog" it'll be alright as that title would mean that I had fully failed back to drinking and not eating right.
