I just kind of sat here at the computer counting down the time until I had to go to work. I worked Noon to Nine closing the Customer Service Desk instead of the normal 11a-8pm Supervisor shift that I usually do. I drank an entire pot of coffee, but I'm just sitting here zoned out. I had thought a couple of times that I need to get a plan together for what I'm going to cook on Tuesday for the weekly lunch. But then I zone back out. First half of the day went really smoothly. Not sure if I should write this down. This is being logged at lunch. I worked a 3:5 split so I went to lunch at 3pm and will have to work 4 to 9. The challenge of the first half of today was that I wasn't supervisor I was s...

I've been feeling really bleah over the month. I'm not sure if that's because I've been off of the diet for too long. There is a fascinating link between Body/Mind/Spirit (emotion) health. Heck maybe looking at the weight tracking up everyday is hurting the mood. I haven't been making the daily blog, but I have been keeping track of the weight. But I often remind myself that each day is just a data point on the graph. I spent most of the week staying at Mom's house while she went to Yellowstone National Park. When she got home on Thursday I cooked up a batch o...

I really need to get back to the diet. I've been sober since December, so yay Six Months sober. Not that I haven't been...Thirsty, from time to time. But I just have a hard time sticking to the diet. April really was the best weight loss progress month, but then May stayed really flat, and then June really tracked up really quickly. I haven't been at 340 since March and that average hadn't been since February. And today was the first time since February that I was over the average for the year. Another thing with getting back to the diet is Mind/Body/Spirit. Yeah, my feet, ankles, and knees are yelling at me by the end of the day. But I'm just getting off of work and just collapsing at my...

On Sunday Mom threw a party for Grandma as it was Grandma's 80th birthday. And after the party I was in a strange mood. I sat down and I just didn't wanta. I didn't wana anything. I'm not sure what that mood came from. I don't know if it was because of all of the family members that I was supposed to know, but didn't know. All of the stuff people were talking about progressing their lives and I'm just still sitting here just trying to get my bills paid. I know this blog is about me. But it didn't feel right to make a post saying, “Yay, I went to Grandma's Birthday, and now I'm sad” I feel guilty for tha...

I saw a headline that apparently the shareholders of the parent company of my store think that the staff is underpaid and they are supposedly asking the company to pay us a “Living Wage” of at least $19 to $20. Yeah, that's not going to happen. I had just gotten a 25 cent raise. Raising it to $20, would be a nearly 25 PERCENT raise. Which would be a fun idea, it's just not going to happen. There was a digital coupon for the name brand coffee last week so I had took advantage of that to buy “Black Silk” flavored coffee, and I can't say that I like that flavor, it just tastes burnt. I usually drink the Breakfast Blend of the store brand. Every once an...

Yesterday (Monday) didn't seem to exist. I remember waking up, weighing in, playing Oblivion, and then I went to bed. I really need to balance life and game time. Now I'm going to be frustrated that I had a day off, but I didn't do any thing. Oh, well. I was really quite excited for a second when I stood on the scale this morning. I even checked to make sure that there wasn't anything stuck underneath it. But I realized that it said “334.2” and not “324.2” I mean I would have really preferred if it had said 324.2 (147.1 kg). But not feeling confident that it'll say that any time soon.Waist still seems to be down for the month/year. So not sure what's going on there. Somehow I doubt that it's because I'm gai...

I'm glad that I have bacon on the shopping list for the week. I was excited last week when I did the inventory and it looked like I had enough Lunch and Dinner components to not have to do grocery shopping this next week. But I'll have to buy more Bacon, Eggs, and Seltzer. And there is a Digital Coupon on Bratwursts (not sponsored) this week and if there's a coupon on something you have to buy that thing right? Had a weird feeling as I was going into work. It was like a light floaty feeling. Have you ever had a heavy sobbing cry? Just wept...

I've been wondering around the map discovering locations. So far I've discovered 50% of the locations, but only cleared 8% of all of them. A challenge with clearing the locations is that the designers of these dungeons seem to be allergic to straight lines and they are all winding confusing caves also clearing out the dungeon gathers loot. And my character can only carry so much at a time. So I'll clear a room, and them run back to town to sell loot, and then go back to the cave. I did have a chuckle when I found a pair of Blue Suede Shoes. When I got back to town to sell them. The shop keeper bought them for 1 gold. There are all kinds of pants, shirts, and shoes that the bad guys drop to be sold for gold so ...

I've been hard bingeing Oblivion over the last several days so I didn't take the time to make much progress on anything else. I had started a new play through so I can truly track all of the locations that I've discovered and that did put me in a bit of a funk as I was up to 60 hours on the last play through and restarted and all of that time was just wiped out. And starting that again kind of hurt. But this play through I've found 139 locations but only cleared 24 of them. That's 43% locations found but only 7% of the locations cleared. But I'm going to try to not have my time so absorbed by the game. I'm going to stop tracking “Keto” days until (if?) Roommate goe...

But looking at the data of the year that seems to be the pattern. January was pretty flat, February had pretty good progress, March was pretty flat, and then April had good progress, and now May is flat. So I'm not sure if that is normal, but I am making amazing progress for the year. I didn't get a chance to take any notes today. I do remember that there were moments that I wanted to write things down. But good gravy today was swamped busy. It was the Friday of a holiday weekend and there are rumors of bad weather over the next couple of days. It was insanely busy and I did have more than one person ask me if the help that we had was all of the help...

Worried About The Paycheck Keto/Sobriety Blog May 22, 2025

But I'm REALLY KIND OF FREAKED OUT that the paycheck hasn't landed in my bank account this morning. The pay stub usually updates on Wednesday around 7pm and I usually check the site as I'm leaving work on Wednesday, but I was off yesterday so I didn't bother checking the site and I was just expecting the deposit at midnight like usually happens. I checked my balances after posting last night...and it wasn't there. I tried to check the website were the pay stubs are posted and it wasn't responding. So I downloaded the related app. After a bit of login and signing up drama, I was able to check my pay stub...and it wasn't there. The last pay stu...

Got distracted by Oblivion last night so I didn't get around to posting. Or at least that'll be the excuse that I'll use.  It is nice to be back down to 330 (149.7 kg) Goal is currently at 320 (145.1 kg) but I seem to be back on track now.  I did manage to defrost the freezer and take an inventory yesterday. Frustratingly the freezer is still overfilled. HOW DOES THIS KEEP HAPPENING? Yeah, I bought some more Bratwursts, and a Pork Butt cut into steaks. But that's all I bought and it was still a challenge to get everything back into the freezer even with the stuff I got out for the weekly meal plan. I didn't think that I had bought more than the seven lunches and sev...

I tired to explain why in this post before going to bed, but brain just didn't want to comply. It was almost like the Windows Shutdown Sound went off as soon as I got home last night. A piece of good news, my feet have stopped hurting. I was nervous about my left foot for a couple of days as it was sore on the top outside. I guess that I just stepped wrong, but it seems to have sorted itself out. Forgot my freaking notes again. I do remember that there were things that I wanted to write about, but I can't remember them now. I guess there was a Tornado Warning last night around midnight. It wasn't a very effective warning as nobody seemed...

I just didn't want to go to bed. I was feeling kind of frustrated with the feeling of go to bed, wake up, go to work, go to bed, wake up, go to work, feeling of a loop. And the chili from last night was messing with my stomach and it was kind of cranky for most of the day. Coffee tasted a bit odd this morning. Kind of sour bitter. I'm not sure what's going on there. This container of coffee that I bought recently was the little baggie of coffee and not the can that I usually buy and I had left it open sitting next to the coffee pot so maybe it's going bad? It says to keep in the fridge, but I hadn't kept any other coffees in the fridge. But the other coffees had a lid that I could close an...

Another reason to avoid Energy Drinks Keto/Sobriety Blog May 16, 2025

A major ingredient in most of the energy drinks is known as Taurine. TL;DR They're linking Taurine to Leukemia. Okay, this next part is biased on my understanding and Google searches and suffers from many rewrites to get “right”. The caffeine in the energy drinks doesn't as much give you energy. Brains are weird as it doesn't feel tired until it receives a chemical (adenosine) in a receptor. And Caffeine blocks those receptors so it isn't that you have more energy, you just don't feel the tired. That explains the “caffeine crash” that people have when it fades off. You didn't have more energy, t...

Roommate had to take public transportation to get home. When Roommate got back home the guy had left, but he had left a small generator hooked up to the AC unit outside. He did come back to continue working on it. I'm a little disappointed that it wasn't done by lunch. But hey, done well is better than done fast. He got the AC working, but he'll come back next week to finish some work on the Heater. I don't think that we'll have to worry too much about the heater working or not. He's also going to install a digital thermostat When I first got to work I felt really ...

Thankfully Roommate will be home if there are any issues. I was starting to get worried because it was 10 o'clock and he still hadn't called. I only saw that he was here because I saw his van pull up to the back of the house. We were, more or less, ready for him. We just had to drag the dog up to Roommates room. I think I recognize the technician I'm pretty sure he introduced himself to me as someone who did some work on my Grandma's house. Kind of nervous to ask him about it. He removed the heater from the basement and the AC unit from outside. And my guess of him, “being done by lunch” was kind of correct because...
