I have cottage cheese and hot dogs one day for lunch, the next day the weight is up. I have a recipe that I have saved for lunch the weight is down. I have Jalapeno cheesy sausages for lunch, the next day the weight is up. It's still among the lowest weigh ins for the year. And I'm still down 10 lbs for the year. I think starting tomorrow I'll start doing the tracking in my phone app again. Maybe start going back to the YMCA on Monday. I wont go tomorrow because with their Sunday hours they are only open while I'm at work. I'm thinking of trying to get into a habit of going into the weight room Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Maybe going to swim on Tuesday...

Keto Week 1 (Day 11)
Sober Month 1 (Day 50)

Back on Sunday I was taking a cart that had a squeaky wheel around to the back of the store where damaged carts go. There are several carts that have screws sticking out of the side of the wheel that when they roll around they squeak as it goes by the wheel brace. I swear that they just glance at the cart, see that it has four wheels that go around and bring it back up to the front. Oh well, at least it will be a week or two without that “Squeak, squeak, squeak” that drives everybody in the store insane. But as I was coming back up to the front I wasn't paying attention to where I was walking and I caught the stores gas meter right against my left thigh. There's a pretty good sized bruise there now. A bruise that I'm constantly poking at.

Of course Waist isn't as dynamic as Weight, but it is exciting to see that the waist is down 2 inches (5 cm) in only 9 days. It was down to the 57 inches (144.8 cm) yesterday, but I wasn't sure that if it really was down to that measurement or if my gut was reacting to the measuring tape as it was quite chilly yesterday. I'm glad that I was able to reaffirm that measurement today.

I really didn't want to go to work. It was much more satisfying to mess around with the spreadsheets. But when I got to work I had a rush of energy and I was in an amazingly good mood even though I was running the self checkout. I had to be careful though. A lot of times when I have that much energy the amazingly good mood can turn into fight or flight. The first half of the day went really smoothly. Had some weird people come through

It is interesting, people are starting to as for and wear masks again. There have been headlines about Bird Flu and some rumblings about Tuberculosis. I do think that masks would help against respiratory diseases, if people treated them right. But 1. People don't wear their masks right, and 2. Some people who wear masks get over confident because “why be careful, I'm wearing a mask”

The Super Bowl is this weekend so there are some really good sales going on right now (not sponsored) There is a really tempting deal on the Velveeta blocks that you get two cans of tomatoes and a bag of chips for free with the block of cheese. And I have to say, Nachos really does sound good, not good for the diet, but sounds really good. The 12pks of soda are also on sale Buy 2 Get 3 Free. I thought about taking advantage of that sale to get various Diet Sodas. But I have a hard enough time sleeping right now and I don't think that the constant drinking of caffeinated soda would help with that, and I know that is what I would be doing if I did buy those sodas.

I managed to avoid buying anything today. And this is doubly good because I had a really long first half. This is something I need to work on. I spend WAY too much money on food. Both my health, and my financial goals depend on me getting my spending under control.

As I was going to lunch there was a guy having a rather heated argument with a light pole. He seemed to be getting rather upset with it also. Normally I wouldn't have minded. But the light pole he was threatening the family of was the pole that was only three parking spaces away from where my car was parked.

I had Italian Wedding Soup for lunch. Apparently for the first time on this blog. Kind of interesting because I made that recipe for the first time back in March last year. Today's serving wasn't from the same batch, so that means that I've made it more than once, but never marked it on here.

Going back to lunch I had a moment that scared the hell out of me. There was a bit of a wintery mist coming down so I put on my windshield wipers and the wiper blade on the drivers side just popped off and skittered away. It had been needing to be replaced for a little while now, but I guess it got tired of dragging my heels. I pulled over and tried to find it, but I had to get to work. I'm really praying that it's just a matter of popping a new one on.

Something I am a bit nervous about this week is Gatorade and Rockstar Energy are on sale 10 for $10, normally that would have been AMAZING for me because normally when things are "Ten for Ten" they're just a dollar a piece no matter how many you buy. This week they ARE a dollar a piece...if you buy 10 or more. I'm not looking forward to that probable argument. And I'm kind of wondering if they're planning on changing up how some of the sales work. Because I've noticed that for the last couple of weeks there were kinds of cheese that were 3 for $5...if you bought 3 or more. Normally if something is on sale for so many for so many the item would be the price of the fraction. (eg: if something was 2/$4 it would be $2 each, if something was 3/$5 it would be $1.67 for a single one) I'm wondering are they planning on changing it so you have to buy the number of items to get the sale price of the items? Is this a plan to fight inflation? Something to stave off the possible costs of tariffs? Just plain corporate greed? (Let's guess greed)

I'm not sure what I did to my feet today as later in the evening the back of both of my heels felt like they had been smacked by a sledgehammer. It might just be because I worked a five and half hours before lunch and two and a half hours after lunch. So maybe I should try to get around to getting a break when I work lopsided shifts like today.

I baked some Rib-eyes for dinner. The last couple of days Roommate said that he was going to cook something on Wednesday. The only request that I made was that it was low carb. He mentioned something about cooking rice in the slow cooker. Not very ketogenic, but hey, if he want's to cook something for a change, than go for it. However when I got home he was screaming at a new Football video game that he downloaded today and just as I got home there was a Doordash delivery (not sponsored) but it was just a 20oz and a 12pk of Mt Dew. Whatever, I just tossed a couple of steaks in the oven. I don't know if this is the "perfect" way to cook steaks, but it really does work quite well. I get to sit down while it cooks.

Hey, I got this posted early (see also actually on time) I think I'm going to go try to read some more
