There was leftover pizza this morning but chose to do the bacon and eggs instead. And again I woke up tired. I had sat a pan on the oven and turned it on and sat at my computer and only started cooking breakfast when I was reminded when I started to smell the pan warming up.
Today was a really quiet day at work. Most people seem to be pretty chill. I did get into a couple of arguments with people. The Christmas items are naturally discounted 70% off. And a lot of people don't seem to understand that the discount is only on Christmas stuff, and can't comprehend that they can't get 70% off of Valentines Day and Spring merchandise before New Years. Apparently it's false advertisement. Another lady was confused by a $25 gift certificate there are gift certificates from the city's Chamber of Commerce, she insisted that she didn't need $25 worth of items so she just wanted to cash it in. Well, 1. That's not how the gift certificate works the point of the certificates from the camber of commerce is to spend money in the town. And 2. It's really not that hard to spend $25
A couple of hours into the first half of my day I was feeling fine, but I was SERIOUSLY craving Doritos and Pink Dip. (Pink Dip is equal parts of one pound of Sour Cream, Salsa, and shredded cheddar, mix well) It was like my brain was absorbed by the idea of Doritos and dip. Almost to the point if someone were to offer me some they might come out of the conversation missing a finger. I had the idea that it might be the salt that I was craving. I've heard from multiple sources that if you're dying for some chips, it could be a sign of low salt, or low electrolytes. And it's my understanding that what makes the sports drinks, sports drinks are the electrolytes in them. So I grabbed a bottle of Powerade Zero (not sponsored, it's just cheaper than Gatorade) Coworkers are impressed how I can slam back a drink, but we're not really supposed to have drinks on the clock so I'm not going to have it sitting around sipping on it. And it helps that it isn't carbonated. But after I had the drink I felt really tired. I'm not sure if this is a regular occurrence and I just paying attention this time or if something else was going on. It is a sweet drink without sugar, so maybe I was having an insulin reaction. I'm not diabetic (or at least I wasn't at last testing) but maybe the sweet taste made my body release insulin that I didn't need?
Got into a
conversation with a coworker about the new year and trying to lose
weight. And he kept going on and on about calories and calorie
targets. I told him that I was focusing more on the quality of food
I didn't feel like preaching about Keto. But he didn't seem to be
bothered with what I was saying and was just going on about calorie
deficits. I eventually told him what I told the doctor last year, “If
you say, 'Move more, eat less.' I'll throw something at you” I walk
around for the better part of 9 hours a day, and I really only eat 3
meals a day. It's not like I'm eating all day long.
During lunch I
didn't feel like going home and having the dog jump all over me. So I
just had lunch of the Johnsonville Jalapeno Cheddar Sausages at the
store. I was going to do good at lunch, but I was still craving chips
so I grabbed a can of Pringles. However I don't think that the chips
agreed with me because I spent the rest of the shift constantly
burping. For a while it seemed like every third breath went into the
belly to come out as a belch. I was also farting a lot later in the evening.
Thanks to closing on Christmas Eve and closing the desk on Thursday I had some overtime and was able to leave early. When I got home Roommate was rather upset. The neighbors in the condo next to ours were having a rather noisy party that had been going on all evening. And then there was the smell of weed that started coming through the wall. He called the police, and the police was able to turn it down and told Roommate that He could smell the weed from when he got out of the police car. But the officer said, over the phone, that the neighbors had already finished off their stash so he just told them to keep it down. I'm willing to bet that he didn't want to have the drama and paper work of a drug bust. and it's probably just easier to give a warning. But Roommate seemed satisfied with them just being quieter.
Every once in a while I get Emails from a Job recruiting website that I signed up for a couple of years ago. The job was for an opening for the local bank. The job description looks like what I want to be doing. It would be nice to have a banking hours job, basically doing what I do in the customer service desk just sitting down while doing it. But the job listing didn't list any benefits outside of a range of estimated hourly wages. And the lower end wouldn't be that far off of what I'm making at the store. But I'm not in the financial position to just quit the job I have right now for a job with unknown benefits. It would suck to get a new job to find out that it didn't have insurance.
That would be the ultimate good news/bad news. "Bad news, you lost all health benefits. Good news you get to name a new disease!"
Still not sure how it takes so long to write these out. I got home a little after six pm and it's almost midnight by the time I got everything written down.
