I even made a big social media post about finally being under the “Morbidly Obese” level. And the last two days the scales said, “Ha ha, no you're not” Still down 10 lbs for the month and 7.7 lbs for the year. I know that fluctuations happen and happiness is not a number on the scale, but come on I was making progress here. It's irritating to be up 2 whole pounds each day after being down to the lowest weight in almost 11 years.  I worked 12-9 today. I was thinking that I was supposed to be a carryout for the first half of the day but when I got to work it was revealed that I was in the desk the entire day. Today was a challenge as ye...

Had a late breakfast as I woke up with a feeling that I needed to get up and start running around. I just felt that I needed to get out and do something, but I really didn't have anything to do. I did forget that I was going to buy some baking soda to try to clean off my Pyrex pans, but by the time I realized that I forgot the one thing that I was going to do today I had spent way too much on other things. Thankfully I already have some baking soda in my cabinet. It'd suck to spend money on stuff that I already had.

The thing is when I got home I thought I'd try to finish off the diet sodas that had made me feel so down over the last several days. I only had 8 or 9 cans left of two or three of the flavors, but only half way through one can I was already feeling like my soul was deflating. I decided that this was enough and went ahead and tossed the rest of the sodas in the trash. It kind of feels like a waste to throw away so many cans of unconsumed soda, but the real waste was the anthropomorphic lump of flesh that those drinks were turning me into. It took an entire pot of coffee to bring me back to the land of the living.

I've came up with a motto: Eat water, drink food. Yes I do realize that is written the wrong way around, but I thought of that the other day and I'm hoping that that the humorous version sticks in the head a bit better than the right way around. I'm pretty sure that the original quote is “Eat only food, drink only water” and I'm pretty sure that is from a Greek Philosopher. I'm having a heck of a time finding which Philosopher said this. The search engine optimization on that phrase is all kinds of borked. I've seen hits for doing a “water fast” and yeah I'm going with 'no thanks' on that. But the other thing I'm seeing is that some people are encouraging people to chew their food until it is completely turned into fluid, which...gross.

“Lunch” was pretty late compared to when most people eat lunch, but that's pretty normal for me. I usually eat lunch around 3 or 4 in the afternoon. And that's about the time the ribs I was baking were done baking. But the entire rack of ribs that I was baking ended up being more than I could eat for one meal. So I had the leftovers for dinner later this evening.

I Had picked up a 24 pack of Michelob Ultra during the unnecessary grocery run this morning. Before I had picked up the “Drink food, and eat water” motto I'll have to see if that mantra holds
