Weight: 344.2 lbs ( 156.1 kg) BMI: 44.2 Waist: 57.5 in (146.1 cm) WtHr: 77.7% Breakfast: Bacon and Eggs Lunch: Baked Chicken Snack: Sea Salt Mixed Nuts Dinner: Bratwursts Drinks: Salted Coffee, Kroger Seltzer, Sugar Free Monster, Sober Week 4 (Day 30) YMCA: X Finally some progress on the waist. I know that it's going to be a “Vitamin P” kind of thing, but it would be nice if the waist line was as dynamic as the scale. I have noticed over the last couple of days the gut had been more “Saggy” and soft. Good news is that means I'm losing fat, bad news is that it's going to start drooping under my shirt if I'm not careful. But I'll take saggy gut over sore feet any day of the week. And on that point feet and shins felt amazing this morning. It sucked last night a screw came out of the back of my computer chair. I was able to put the screw back in. And it seems to be holding, but for a while I was thinking that I was going to have to buy a new one. That would kind ...

At least I woke up in a good mood. 10-1-20

Weight: oops, forgot to weigh in before breakfast (Not sure what that is in metric)

Waist: 57 in (144.8 cm)

Breakfast: Rib-eye

Lunch: x

Dinner: Nachos

I love when the first day of the month is on a Thursday. I get paid on Thursdays and I like paying all of my monthly bills on the first of the month. So I have all my bills paid for the month, money in my checking, money in both of my savings, and a fridge full of food. Weather switched back to cool fall weather. Life is pretty damn good for me.

Or at least it was before I went to work.

I thought that we were done with the “Here Catch Training Strategy” at work. It had been a long time since they just threw something at us with a “Don't worry you'll figure it out” kind of attitude. They were getting good at training us for things, as well as doing follow up training every couple of years. But today someone, somewhere decided that the first of the month was the best day to install a new register system. I would like to have a conversation with this individual. The official story line seems to be to reassure us that this new touch screen register is the same program that the self checkout cashier station uses. The cashier this afternoon has ran the self checkout before. She should, more or less, know how to run this new register. But she hadn't been on self checkout for quite some time, and she is one of those kinds of people who, instead of paying attention and trying to figure it out herself just yells for help. And I'm the person everybody just calls for when they need help with something. Earlier this week I agreed to work 12-4 for a carryout that had quit. I get paid by the hour, so hours are hours. I am curious as to what it would have been like if I hadn't agreed to work today. I don't think I went more than a minute or two without a, “Mark! Mark, hey, Mark. How do I do this, Mark. Mark.”

There are days where it seems like I have to withstand eight hours of “Mark, Mark, Mark, Mark” <pretend that is going off like a car alarm> often from four or five directions at the same time. It's like people don't see or hear other people shouting my name. And then when I don't respond to them at that exact second they just shout may name over and over. I was talking to a coworker about this frustration and I compared it to Chinese Water Torture. She thought I was joking.

Back to complaining about today though. They just dropped a new style of register on us. And just expected us to just know how to run it. And even a new girl who had supposedly just transferred from a store that already had these registers was just staring confusedly at it when she was on that register. So far only one of the registers have the new touch screen. I tried to get an uninterrupted closer look at it. But, again first of the month. They are telling us that they gave us one register of this style so we can get used to this one before they change every single register. And that seems like a bad idea of how to train us. Mostly because they're just throwing it at us and saying “Here it is, figure it out, you'll be fine”

Actually I don't think we are supposed to be using it as our main register. I think it's supposed to be that we are supposed to be using our regular registers to ring people up and then when a checker isn't helping anyone they're supposed to study the new one. But that is just a guess, a guess that is a little insulting to our checkers. Thinking that we are just standing around not doing anything most of the time. But it is the guess that makes the most sense.

Breakfast Rib-eye tasted good while eating it, but it left a strange greasy aftertaste.

I skipped lunch because with that wild ride at work I decided to pick up Nachos and Whiskey on the way home. My “Nachos” are a giant block of cheese, hamburger, and Doritos. Doritos aren't even kind of Keto, but I needed some comfort food after four hours of trying to do my job, while trying to figure out how to do someone else's job, while teaching them how do said job.
