Not down to where I started the year at, but under the average for the year. Waistline is making progress, but it's hard to get as excited about the waist as it is the weight. I keep reminding myself that, “Happiness is not a number on the scale, or the measuring tape” Happiness would be standing up without having to build up the courage to brace for the oncoming pain in the feet. Walking around without cringing in pain. Or the mind improving. Kind of ironic that I'm writing this after work and can't think of a way to expand on that point. But I am feeling that my mind/mood has greatly improved over the last couple of weeks.
I worked earlier than normal and I didn't sleep very well last night so I wasn't able to cook the regular breakfast this morning. And as I had some gunk in the back of my throat I thought that I'd pick up some of the Jalapeno sausages and and an Energy shot to try to break up the phlegm. It didn't really work and I had to get several drinks in the first half of the day to try to clear my throat.
Work was another day that had a 5-3 split. And I had slipped bought fried chicken drumsticks and had some pringles for lunch. I'm not sure if it was because I was tired and the restraint was low or what but when I went to clock out for lunch I just had the overwhelming desire for fried chicken and chips. Before lunch I was thinking about starting a count of “Keto Days” like I have been doing with the “Sober Days” as I have been making pretty good progress on that end. But the chicken tasted AMAZING. I'm thinking that I might start that count next week.
“Next Week” as in tomorrow, it being Sunday, or “Next Week” on Saturday the First of February. I did start the Sober Day count on a random day in December.
Second half of work I wasn't in as a great mood as I was in the first half. I'm not sure if that was because of the extra carbs, or I was just getting tired from what felt like running for almost five hours straight. It wasn't as busy this week as it was the last couple of weeks (it helps that there wasn't a BLIZZARD or an ARCTIC WINTER POLAR VORTEX OF DOOM coming) but it was pretty hopping.
I checked the internet bill and yeah, the bill is charging me an extra $100's for the month. Apparently going over the data limit put my bill into another, more expensive, bill bracket. Roommate admitted to downloading multiple games after I told him that I got an email saying that the bill was getting close to the limit. He did say that he'll help pay that off the week after next as he's paying me for the rent next week.
I picked up another couple of chuck steaks to bake after work. I'm not sure if baking is the best way to cook these kinds of steaks as they came out a bit tough after baking for 30 minutes at 350 F (177 C). The fat of the steak was quite flavorful, but the meat itself was tough. I may cook them for longer at a lower temperature if I try baking them in the future.
I put some lotion on my hands after work. They're not as dry as they were, but the skin is now red and burning. I'm not sure if that's just the lotion reacting to the dry skin, or if I'm having some sort of light allergic reaction. They don't hurt enough to make me worried, but enough to notice.
I got off at 7pm but it took me a couple of hours to recover enough to get the energy to write this out. And as I did write this out a different kind of tiredness is creeping up on me. I think that I'll be able to sleep well this evening. The types of tiredness is fascinating. There was the tiredness of running around for eight hours, and the tiredness of time for bed. Not sure if I'm making sense there.
