Slow wake up today. Feet didn't hurt, so that was nice. But had a hard time building momentum. It is comfortably warm in the apartment, which I THANK CHRIST for. A couple of years in a row the heater has had issues. Landlord is really good at coming out and fixing problems as soon as I report them, but I REALLY wouldn't want to wake up to the “Arctic Polar Vortex Blast” that we've been having for the last couple of days with the heater crapped out. It is so cold my mom is even cussing about it.
Speaking about the arctic polar vortex, I'm feeling sorry for the people in the south of the country. I've heard that Louisiana is getting about 8 inches (20 cm) of snow. They just aren't built for that. We still have ice stuck to everywhere from the snowstorm from two weeks ago. And that's a place that is used to snow. I just can't help but think that they're going to be struggling for a while.
And speaking about the Landlord I might have to call him tomorrow. Everything is fine about the apartment, it's just that the Rent Check hasn't cleared yet. I'm guessing that it was just delayed by weather. And I'm sure he would have called by now if he hadn't received it. He is a rancher, so maybe he's been too busy dealing with the Arctic Polar Vortex to get rent checks to the bank. But if the Rent Check isn't hitting my bank by tomorrow I'll go ahead and give him a call. The last time it didn't pass before this late in the month was when the post office had sent it back because I forgot the stamp. But I have always been careful to put one on ever since then.
And speaking about mail shenanigans the Amazon package that I ordered earlier this week is taking a rather circuitous route to get here. According to the tracker it left Hebron Kentucky on Sunday, and then went to Katy Texas. I understand that it's probably traveling with other people's packages and is probably going along shipping lanes. It's not like there's a direct route from the Amazon warehouse directly to my house. But it's about 16 hours from Hebron Kentucky to Katy Texas and then 10 hours to my town. But it's only 12 hours from Hebron to my town. The tracker still says it'll still be delivered tomorrow. But it hasn't left Katy Texas since it got there at 5:52 pm yesterday.
I hung out at Mom's house doing laundry today. She suggested that she was going to order pizza, but unfortunately the pizza place didn't order out to her house. But she had some Chili and Hot Dogs sitting around so we had Chili Dogs instead. And for some reason I keep typing “God” whenever I try to type “Dog”.
While the laundry machines were going we watched some really dramatic movies. One was about a kid who got lost on a mountain back in 1939 Called Lost on a Mountain in Maine. It was fascinating to watch a movie biased on real events that had interviews with actual people involved. The other movie was called Bonhoeffer (odd that the writing program knew that name) it was about a Preacher in WWII Germany who opposed the Nazi's and was involved in an assassination plot against Hitler. I wasn't able to follow that movie as closely as the first movie because I was doing laundry and the movie seemed to be playing events out of order one moment he's in jail, the other moment he's hanging out with American Southern Black Baptists, and then he was delivering Jews to Switzerland. I'm sure that it'd make sense if you sat down and watched it, but again I was going back and forth between laundry machines and folding underwear.
We also watched a YouTuber who was a retired Police Detective talk about an unsolved axe murder from 1912. I would like to find this presenter. I really liked he broke down what was known about the unsolved murder. And applied what he knew about fighting crime to the case. And he wasn't afraid to say, "I don't know" or "it's just unknown"
On the way home from Mom's house I was still thinking about pizza. I thought about swinging by the store to pick up some frozen pizza. But when I got there I was able to convince myself to just have the bratwurst that I already had at home. I did pick up a case of NA Beer because the streamer that I like to follow streamed this evening. Those had a lot of carbs in them so I can't really call this a Keto Blog Post.
