Keto Day 2
All of the Full Time people are being scheduled 39 hours so the store can avoid any overtime. I was kind of nervous when this started this as I was thinking that they were maybe trying to get rid of me, but the other full time people have also had their hours cut. So I was scheduled 12-8 instead of the usual 11-8. Unfortunately the schedule being off kind of threw off my routine, so all I was able to do was count down how much time it was until I had to leave for work.
I am glad that the scale is down 1.2 lbs (0.5 kg) but still annoyed that yesterday was 6lbs (2.7 kg) up from the previous day. It is more than a little annoying that it can jump up, but it always crawls down.
When I got groceries back on Tuesday I got most of the stuff to make the roast for dinner tonight. The recipe for that roast is a chuck roast, a can of mushroom soup, a pack of onion soup mix, and a stick of butter. I didn't get the onion soup mix because the last three times I got the stuff to make that roast I already had it at home. But of course assuming that I had some is the best way to not have any so I had to skip that part.
Before I left for work I wrote “TS” on my hand. When I got the groceries on Tuesday I forgot to get the stuff for Taco Salad that I was planning on making with the ground beef that I got out of the freezer. I wasn't planning on making Taco Salad for dinner tonight, but I wanted to get the stuff so I could set it up tomorrow before I left for work like I set up the slow cooker with the roast today. I did touch it up a couple of times over the day, but I still forgot to buy the stuff when I left work for the night.
I was able to pay the phone bill this morning and transfer money into the savings accounts. I have to say that was immensely satisfying to transfer money into savings and all of the bills for September are paid and next week I'll have to transfer money from the Bill Savings account to pay the bills next week, but it is less than what I transferred into Bill Savings this week.
I had used the last of the filler checks on Tuesday for groceries and next week I'll have to send off the rent. So I ran by the bank to have some more checks printed off. The filler checks come 4 to a sheet and they're $1 per sheet so I had two sheets printed. I really do want to properly order checks so I'm not running to the bank every couple of weeks to get new checks printed off, but that's pretty low on the priorities. I when I had the checks printed off I went to check the balance of my account. When I did the transfers I left myself the $50 “allowance” and what was supposed to be the $2 for the filler checks is easy enough math, but I wanted to make sure. That's when I realized that I had forgotten my phone at home. I had left the house a little bit early to make sure that I had plenty of time to run by the bank, but that wasn't nearly enough time to run all of the way home and then back to the store.
I knew that would make for a really long first half. Not really supposed to be on the phone while at work. But the main issues that I was worried about is the car insurance is on the app on my phone so I was driving around without insurance. (low worry) But he main concern was I hadn't had a physical shoppers card for years and I've been using the store's app (not sponsored) to pay for stuff. I had my debit card with me and I went ahead and grabbed a physical shoppers card so I could get the sales price, but it wouldn't have my employees discount and I wouldn't get the fuel points for anything. I did pick up a Sugar Free Red Bull (not sponsored) but I didn't want to buy too much without the ability to check my balances.
I also wasn't able to check the schedule to see what I was supposed to do when I got into work. I was pretty sure that I was supposed to carryout for a couple of hours. I had just got to the front of the store and realized that I had to go to the bathroom. Not to worried about that as a carryout it's easy to sneak away and run to the restroom. But then the lady running Self Checkout screeched at me that I was covering her lunch. That really kind of sucked because as a carryout I could easily run to the restroom really quickly, but running Self Checkout there is no escape. That's constantly ping ponging running around the six different registers.
I was supposed to be a carryout for the next couple of hours, but it was just swarmed busy so I had to spend most of the day on a register, even when I was supposed to be the Supervisor. It felt like people were panic buying all day long. When I came home for lunch Roommate suggested that there's a possibility that there's going to be a new war starting up pretty soon. There's a "pentagon pizza watch" that when there's something about to go down with the military the pentagon orders a lot of pizza and swarms their local establishments, and supposedly the "Secretary of War" Pete Hegseth has recalled all of the Generals to Washington and President Trump is going to make a major announcement tomorrow.
I did pick up a can of Sugar Free Red Bull, (not sponsored) it was strange, my feet were a bit sore all day long. But when I chugged the energy drink it felt like a red hot knife jammed into the bottom of my left foot and my feet felt like fire. A coworker suggested that I take some Ibuprofen that is behind the customer service desk. I declined, they wanted to know why. Well, I've been taking Ibuprofen (I had to google THAT spelling) and it never does anything. They insisted that it's not like you can take too much. that doesn't sound right, but if you take more than double the recommended dose and it never does anything it might not be a good idea to keep taking it. They suggested that I take some Tylenol. It was hard to resist the joke of the current events. But none of the over the counter pain relievers ever help my feet when they hurt that bad. Really the only thing that helps stop the pain is to sit down. Unfortunately my job has me standing around for 8 hours a day.
I've been thinking about starting up the videos again. I was wondering if I should go downstairs and make the videos. They're just me talking to the camera so there's no reason for me to record them at my desk. I haven't been because of Roommate being home and I didn't want to have him awkwardly sitting in the background. I was kind of using the excuse that I was just going to wait until he went back to work, but who knows if he's ever going to go back to work. And then as I was leaving work the closing cashier told me that she had came across some of my older videos and she thought that they were really funny. That tells me that perhaps I should get back into it.
