It took a while for the Instant Pot to get up to pressure, and that was after the rushing around to get it in the pot itself. The plan was to get the instant pot chili set up for the lunch for the week. Well, I was going to do that yesterday, but I needed to do laundry yesterday. And as it only takes 35 minutes at pressure to cook this chili and I was scheduled to work at 11:30 instead of 11am I figured that it would be fine to get that pot done before work. It was taking so long for it to get to pressure I looked it up on Reddit, and apparently the larger recipes take longer to pressurize because the entire pot has to get up to boiling ...

I rerecorded that Store Story video that I was wanting to post. There is a bit of a political point in it and I got distracted by that point and got off on the tangent. And it happened a bit in the rerecord as well. But to a bit of a lesser degree.

Breakfast was a little late because I recorded the video while Roommate was at his appointment and I waited for him to get home because I knew as soon as I started cooking he'd call and be ready to come home. And it was 11am by the time he called to come home and I was able to have breakfast.

What was really strange was on the way home from the hospital with Roommate we drove by someone who was pulled "over" on 30th street. In our town 30th is one of the bigger roads which has double lanes going each way and a turning lane in the middle. And we saw a cop car with it's lights on in the middle of the road. Roommate was laughing at someone being pulled over, but I saw that they were stopped in the middle turning lane. I thought that they were involved in a crash. But as we drove by it looked like they were being pulled over for a traffic violation, but instead of pulling to the side of the road they decided to just park in the middle of the street. For some reason I don't think that's a very good starting point if you're planning on talking your way out of any ticket. I've noticed over the last several days that the police have been quite busy lately. Roommate and I were joking about the having to get their numbers up. I'm of the opinion that they don't exactly have quotas, but they do have statistics. We're a good way into the year, and almost half way through the second quarter of the year. Who knows, maybe they are trying to get their numbers up. But then again it has been really good weather this week, maybe there are just more people out and about lately. And the more people there are the more likely there will be someone messing something up.

Lunch was a pack of bratwursts. I shouldn't have had that. I have a meal plan of lunches sitting in my fridge, but I wasn't really in the mood for any of those so I grabbed a pack of brats out of the freezer to bake those for lunch.Which "I'm not in the mood for that" is not a good thing for my meal plan.

Roommate convinced me to contact Landlord to get the AC looked at. We've been lucky this week weather-wise but it is supposed to warm back up next week. And it's doing the thing again where it does blow when it's turned on, but it isn't blowing cold. So on the days that it did get warm it's basically acting like a “whole house fan” This is something that happens pretty much on an annual basis. Every year for the last several years I have to call Landlord and he sends someone out to recharge the refrigerant. I had sent a text to Landlord this morning and he called me back this evening and was a bit concerned because he had thought that the AC unit that we had on our condo was just put in a couple of years ago. But I think he might have confused our unit with a different unit because it is the same outside unit that we've always had. He came out later in the evening to take a look at it and he thinks that it just needs to be recharged again. I'm pretty sure that he's just putting a bandage on the situation. But it seems to be working for now. He said that he'll call the AC person and is expecting it to be handled tomorrow. I'm not expecting a long delay on that. We've been really lucky this week on weather and I doubt very many people are looking to get their AC worked on right now.

Congratulations to Pope Leo XIV. May he serve with grace and wisdom. I'm not catholic, but I'll respect the office. There is some shade because the new pope is originally from Chicago Illinois. Apparently he spent most of his life in Peru, but I'm sure there will still be people who try to make everything about him being an American.

Spent a lot of time today playing Minecraft. Was kind of satisfying to do the corridor mining. Kind of making a grid pattern underground.

Baked some Rib Eyes for dinner. Baked them for a bit too long. The steak was still edible, but it was a bit tough.

This is going to be a bit of an early post, but it wasn't a very productive day.
